And whereas after due inquiry the Governor-General is of
opinion that the petition should be granted subject to the
boundaries of the proposed district and outer area being altered
as hereinafter appears:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the Electric-power Boards
Act, 1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling me
in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
alter the proposed boundaries as described in the First Schedule
hereto, and proclaim the district with the altered boundaries
as described in the Second Schedule hereto to be an electric-
power district; and I hereby assign to such district the name
"The Bay of Islands Electric-power District," and I do
declare the areas described in the Third Schedule hereto to
be outer areas of the said electric-power district.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
PROPOSED ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, com-
prising Bay of Islands County, parts of Mangonui and
Hokianga Counties, and the Town Districts of Kaikohe and
Kaitaia: Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the
west coast where the boundary between Hohoura East and
Opoe Survey Districts meets the Tasman Sea; thence in an
easterly direction along the southern boundary of Hohoura
East Survey District, a right line across the entrance of
Rangaunu Bay and the southern boundary of Karikari
Survey District to the sea; thence generally south-easterly
following the boundary of the Mangonui County (Gazette,
1918, page 1685) along the sea-coast to its junction with the
Whangaroa County (Gazette, 1918, page 1686); thence in
generally south-westerly, south-easterly, and north-easterly
directions following the Whangaroa County boundary to the
sea; thence in a south-easterly direction generally following
the Bay of Islands County (Gazette, 1930, page 2823) along the
sea-coast to its junction with the Whangarei County (Gazette,
1932, page 149); thence in a south-westerly direction generally
following the North Auckland Electric-power District (Gazette,
1929, page 3098) along the boundary of Whangarei County
aforesaid to Hobson County (Gazette, 1932, page 149); thence
along the northern boundary of Hobson County to the sea;
thence in a north-westerly direction generally by the sea to
the north head of the Hokianga Harbour; thence in a
generally northerly direction along the western shores of the
Hokianga Harbour and the right banks of the Hokianga and
Tapuwae Rivers to the northern corner of Tapuwae No. 4
Block; thence in a generally north-westerly direction along
the north-western boundary of Tapuwae No. 4 Block, the
north-eastern boundaries of Tautehere No. 2B Block and
Section 11, Block VI, Whangape Survey District, the northern
boundary of Section 11 aforesaid, the north-eastern boundaries
of Whakarapa Nos. 54B, 56, 57, and 58 Blocks to a public road;
thence in a westerly direction generally following that road
along the northern boundaries of Whakarapa Nos. 58, 59,
and 60 Blocks, through Sections 14 and 12, Block V, Whan-
gape Survey District, again Whakarapa No. 60 Block, across
a public road, the northern boundary of Whakarapa No. 63
Block, through Whakarapa No. 62 Block, the northern
boundary of Whakarapa No. 61A Block, through Whakarapa
No. 61B Block to the north-eastern boundary of the last-
mentioned block; thence along the north-eastern boundaries
of Whakarapa No. 61B aforesaid, Waihou Lower No. A 43
Block, Section 22, Block V, Whangape Survey District, to
Trig. D (Opango); thence along the north-eastern boundary
of a forest reserve, the south-eastern boundaries of Roto-
kakahi Nos. A 3c 2b, A 3c 2b Blocks, the north-eastern
boundaries of Rotokakahai A 3c 2b aforesaid and A 3c 1 Blocks,
the crossing of the Rotokakahai River, the north-eastern
boundaries of Rotokakahai Nos. A 3c 2c, A 3a 3, A 3a 2 Blocks
to and across a public road, again Rotokakahai Nos. A 3a 2
Block and A 3a 1 Block to its production to the Mangonui
County aforesaid; thence in a south-westerly direction
generally following the Mangonui County boundary down the
Awaroa River and Whangape Harbour to the sea; thence in
a north-westerly direction generally along the sea-coast to the
point of commencement. As the said electric-power district
is more particularly delineated on the plan P.W.D. 95221,
being thereon edged yellow.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, com-
prising the whole of the Town Districts of Kaikohe and
Kaitaia, and of the Bay of Islands County, all as at present
constituted, and the southern part of the Mangonui County:
Bounded to the west, south, and east by the boundaries of the
Mangonui County as at present constituted, and to the north
by a line commencing at a point on the west coast where the
boundary between Hohoura East and Opoe Survey Districts
meets the Tasman Sea; and proceeding thence generally
in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of
Hohoura East Survey District, a right line across the entrance
of Rangaunu Bay, and the southern boundary of Karikari
Survey District to the sea. As the same is more particularly
delineated on sheets 1 and 4 of the plan marked P.W.D. 95221,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, being thereon hatched blue.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
OUTER AREAS.
All those areas in the North Auckland Land District com-
prising—
(1) All that area in the Mangonui County bounded towards
the west, north, and east by the Tasman Sea and towards the
south by the Opoe and Rangaunu Survey Districts.
(2) All that area being the whole of Whangaroa County
as at present constituted.
(3) All that area being the whole of the Hokianga County
as at present constituted.
As the same are more particularly delineated on sheets 5,
3, and 2 of the plan marked P.W.D. 95221, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Public Works, being thereon hatched
red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 3rd day of March,

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests
Act, 1921–22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto
as a provisional State forest.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—WELLINGTON FOREST-CONSER-
VATION REGION.
All those areas in the Taranaki Land District, containing
together 68 acres 2 roods 13·8 perches, more or less, and being
Sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35,
Block II, Pouatu Survey District. As the same are more
particularly delineated on plan No. 61/7, deposited in the
Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of
February, 1937.
