Article 37: Cancel clauses (8) and (10), and substitute:—
(8) Engine-room Artificers, Advancement of.—Engine-room Artificers, 5th Class, will be eligible for advancement to 4th Class on completion of first period of fourteen days’ training if recommended by the Commanding Officer and Engineer Officer of the ship in which the training is performed. Engine-room Artificers, 4th Class, will be eligible for advancement to 3rd Class upon obtaining R.N. stokehold and engine-room certificates. Further advancement will be governed by the same regulations as for the seagoing forces.
(10) Electrical and Ordnance Artificers, Artisans, Writers, Supply, and Sick-beth Ratings, Advancement of.—The advancement of the following ratings will be governed by the regulations applicable to the seagoing forces:—
Electrical Artificers .. .. .. Writers.

Artisans of all branches .. .. .. Sick-beth ratings.
(NOTE.—In this paragraph and in Paragraphs 34 and 42 Shipwright Artificers are included under Artisans.)

Fourteen days during each alternate year of service, commencing with the first (i.e., odd years), until completion of third term of enrolment; fourteen days’ training in all during fourth term; no compulsory training during fifth term.
As for Engine-room Artificers, Class B.
Engine-room Artificers will be allowed to volunteer for a period of training not exceeding six months in each period of enrolment in order to enable them to qualify for advancement. Subsequent periods of compulsory training during that term of enrolment may be waived when the period of voluntary training exceeds three months.
Article 58: Cancel, and substitute:—

Long-service and Good-conduct Medals.—His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve the award of Long-service and Good-conduct Medals to be granted to reservists of the New Zealand Royal Naval Reserves, Class “A” (Active), “B,” “C,” and “D,” under such regulations as may be issued from time to time by the Governor-General in Council with the concurrence of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty.

The Long-service and Good-conduct Medals will be awarded for the present under the regulations approved for the corresponding Reserve of the Royal Navy, but matters at the discretion of the Admiralty shall be at the discretion of the New Zealand Naval Board.

For purposes of the award of these medals the corresponding classes of the Reserves of the Royal Navy shall be deemed to be as follows:—
New Zealand Reserve. Corresponding Reserve
of the Royal Navy.
Class “A” (Active) .. .. .. Royal Fleet Reserve.
Classes “B” and “C” .. .. Royal Naval Reserve.
Class “D” .. .. .. .. Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.

The designs of the medals (and ribbons) will, for the present, be similar to the medals awarded to reservists of the Royal Navy, but the inscription on the rim of the medal will bear the distinctive initials of the Royal Naval Reserve of the Dominion.

Applications by ratings in Classes “A” (Active), “B,” and “C” for the award of these medals should be addressed to the Navy Office, Wellington.
Applications for awards to Class “D” reservists are to be forwarded by Commanding Officers of Divisions to Navy Office.
