Taieri River Trust.—Appointment of Commissioner.
WHEREAS by Warrant dated the 6th day of June, 1929, and published in Gazette No. 45 of the 13th day of the same month, Thomas Murdy-Ball, Esquire, District Engineer, Public Works Department, Dunedin, was appointed a Commissioner of the Taieri River Trust, in terms of section 3 of the Taieri River Improvement Act, 1920 :
And whereas the said Thomas Murdy Ball has now been transferred to Wellington, and it is considered expedient to appoint another Commissioner in lieu of the said Thomas Murdy Ball :
Now, therefore, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Public Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 3 of the Taieri River Improvement Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby cancel the appointment of the said Thomas Murdy Ball to be a Commissioner of the Taieri River Trust, and do hereby appoint
Peter Keller, Esquire,
District Engineer, Public Works Department, Dunedin, to be a Commissioner of the Taieri River Trust.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 30th day of November, 1936.

Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Major A. E. Conway, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Brigade Major, 2nd N.Z. Infantry Brigade. Dated 30th October, 1936.
Major L. G. Goss, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Brigade Major, 2nd N.Z. Infantry Brigade, in addition to his present appointment. Dated 31st October, 1936.
Lieutenant J. R. Page, Royal N.Z. Artillery, returned to New Zealand on the 7th November, 1936, after undergoing a tour of instruction in England, and has been appointed Assistant Instructor, Artillery Duties, Southern Command. Dated 14th November, 1936.
THE CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY.
2nd Lieutenant D. F. Anderson, The Canterbury Regiment, is attached under the provisions of paragraph 141, General Regulations, 1927. Dated 7th November, 1936.
THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant R. E. B. Hopkirk, Retired List, to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster, with seniority from 6th September, 1932. Dated 1st October, 1936.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant S. T. Bates is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 3. Dated 12th November, 1936.
2nd Lieutenant R. B. McQueen to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st November, 1936.
REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant G. Nelson, 19th Medium Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 5th November, 1936.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants:—
J. L. Duigan, 20th Light Battery. Dated 13th October, 1936.
N. Le C. Squires, 13th Coast Battery. Dated 30th October, 1936.
2nd Lieutenant A. L. Hogg ceases to be posted to the 9th Field Battery, and is posted to the 12th Field Battery, with seniority from 25th February, 1934, next below Lieutenant J. G. Warrington. Dated 27th October, 1936.
Kenneth Frechtling to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 15th Coast Battery. Dated 1st November, 1936.
THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
Lieutenant S. J. Hedge, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 4th August, 1936.
2nd Lieutenant D. P. Melville, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 14th June, 1936.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
Lieutenant G. A. Ball, 3rd Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 5th November, 1936.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
Captain H. G. Carter, 1st Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 4th November, 1936.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenants. Dated 1st November, 1936:—

Clifford Allan Borman to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 27th August, 1936.
THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.
Lieutenant G. A. Ball, from the North Auckland Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st December, 1935, and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 5th November, 1936.
Lieutenant, J. L. Grant, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 4th November, 1936.
THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant F. R. G. Aitken, 3rd Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 27th August, 1936.
Lieutenant J. L. Grant, from The Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 26th November, 1931, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 4th November, 1936.
