Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 13th October, 1936.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Waitemata County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.
In pursuance of the provisions of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Takapuna Riding of the County of Waitemata was taken on the 23rd day of September, 1936, on a proposal of the Waitemata County Council to borrow the sum of £6,300 for the purpose of foreshore improvements in the said riding :—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 204
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 162
Informal .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. 14
The number of votes for the proposal not being the necessary three-fifths required by the statute, I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.

Approval of a Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931.
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve until further notice of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the local authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Classification of Roads in Akaroa County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby alter the Akaroa County Council’s proposed classification and proposed alteration in classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Akaroa County, and do hereby approve such classification and altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.

AKAROA COUNTY.
Roads classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons :—

Christchurch—Akaroa Main Highway No. 109 (all that portion within Akaroa County).

Classification of Roads in Pigeon Bay Road District.

Holmes’ Valley Road (from its junction with Holmes’ Bay and Port Levy Roads to its junction with Ashworth’s and McKay’s Roads).
Roads classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons :—
Ashworth’s Road (from its junction with McKay’s and Holmes’ Valley Roads to the north-east point of R.S. 25249).
Cemetery Road (from its junction with Pigeon Bay Main Road to the north-east point of R.S. 189).
Fernhill Road (from its junction with Pigeon Bay Main Road to the south-west point of R.S. 5219).
R. S. Hay’s Road (from its junction with Pigeon Bay Main Road to the south-west point of R.S. 22866).
Holmes’ Run Road (from its junction with Port Levy Road to the Mount Herbert County boundary).
McKay’s Road (from its junction with Ashworth’s and Holmes’ Valley Roads to the north-east point of R.S. 25042).
Monzies Bay Road (from the Okains’ Bay Road District boundary to the Menzies Bay Wharf).
Pettigrew’s Road (from its junction with Pigeon Bay Main Road to its junction with the Purau Track).
Port Levy Road (from its junction with Holmes’ Bay and Holmes’ Valley Roads to the Mount Herbert County boundary).
Shadbolt’s Road (from its junction with Pigeon Bay Main Road to the south-east point of R.S. 11551).
Starvation Gully Road (from its junction with Pigeon Bay Main Road to the north-west point of R.S. 5220).
