Altering Rates of Duty on Nails and White-lead.—(C. No. 154.)

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 14th day of July, 1936.

Present:

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twelve of the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and being satisfied that the duties of Customs and the exemptions from such duties set out in the First Schedule hereto are likely to operate in an injurious manner in respect to certain industries, doth hereby suspend the existing Tariff (being the First Schedule to the Customs Acts Amendment Act, 1934), in so far as it relates to the goods mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and in lieu thereof doth hereby impose and create on the respective classes of goods mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto the duties and exemptions from duty therein set forth: And with the like advice and consent doth hereby declare that every application of duties and exemption from duty hereby effected is subject to the provisions of section one hundred and forty-three of the Customs Act, 1913; and doth hereby further declare that all duties of Customs that have become due and payable, and all penalties and forfeitures that have been incurred prior to the coming into force of this Order in Council shall be recovered and enforced as if this Order in Council had not been made:

Provided that nothing in this Order in Council shall affect the provisions of section five of the Customs Acts Amendment Act, 1930, or section four of the Customs Acts Amendment Act, 1931, in respect of the imposition on any goods affected by this Order in Council of surtax or primage duty as the case may be.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street off Hardy Street, in the City of Nelson, of a Width less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft., subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 14th day of July, 1936.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1928, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Nelson City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule

hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green and blue on the plan referred to in the said Schedule fronting the said street within a distance of thirty-five feet from the centre-line of the said street.

SCHEDULE.

THAT proposed street in the Nelson Land District, City of Nelson, off Hardy Street, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 6 perches, more or less, being portions of parts Sections 360, 361, 362, and 363, City of Nelson. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 91914, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
