Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Deputy Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:

Francis Raymond Archer Wells,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Clevedon, as from the 1st day of July, 1936.

Aldred Hamilton Burn,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Rangiwahia, as from the 1st day of July, 1936.

Albert Henry Morgan,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Birmingham, as from the 1st day of July, 1936.

Defining Wellington River Limits for Pilot Vessels.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, Peter Fraser, Minister of Marine, do hereby define the Wellington River Limits within which pilot vessels may ply to be inside a circle of three nautical miles radius from the outer rock of Barrett’s Reef.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 15th day of June, 1936.

Classification of Roads in Eltham County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Eltham County Council’s proposed alteration in the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Eltham County.


SCHEDULE.

ELTHAM COUNTY.

Roads classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons:

Auckland—Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway No. 1 (all that portion within Eltham County).
Opunake—Eltham Main Highway No. 39 (all that portion within Eltham County lying between Kaponga Town District and Eltham Borough).
Manaia — Mount Egmont Radius-line Main Highway No. 41 (all that portion within Eltham County).

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IV, Karikari Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Lake Ohia, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
