Approval of Expenditure by Wellington City Council of Compensation-moneys under Thorndon Reclamation Act, 1921-22.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased, in terms of section 6 (4) of the Thorndon Reclamation Act, 1921-22, to approve of the expenditure by the Wellington City Council from the balance of the compensation-moneys held under that Act for the purpose of providing recreation facilities in the City of Wellington of the sum set opposite the purpose specified hereunder:—
Completion of swimming-baths at Karori and provision for dressing accommodation . . . . 1,130

Constituting a recognized Aviation Authority.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section 3 of the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act, 1929, I, Frederick Jones, Minister of Defence for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby recognize for the purpose of that Act the under-mentioned aviation authority:—

THE following special order made by the Wairarapa South County Council on the 21st day of May, 1936, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.
That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Counties Act, 1920, and by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Wairarapa South County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plant milk or variegated thistle (Silybum) mentioned in the Second Schedule to the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, is a noxious weed within the County of Wairarapa South.

I, GEORGE IVAN MARTIN, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Westland Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was

And I do therefore hereby declare that the said John Ryall is duly elected a member of the Westland Land Board for a term of two years as from the 28th day of July, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Christchurch Lead-light and Glass Workers’ Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 1357, situated at Christchurch, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.
