RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Opotiki Jockey Club (Incorporated) at a meeting
held on the 7th day of April, 1936, at Opotiki, with a recom-
mendation by the Chairman of such Club, Mr. R. A. Hedley,
that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval
by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the
Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. R. A. Hedley, the Chairman of such Club, and the
meeting moved, and Mr. F. W. Reid seconded, and it was
resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and
that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the
same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

OPOTIKI JOCKEY CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf
contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of
all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf,
the Opotiki Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of
the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”),
doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the
admission of persons to that part of the Gate Pa Domain,
situated in the district of Tauranga, and known as the Gate
Pa Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied
by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
    club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described while the same is used
    or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a) Bookmakers :

(b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and book-
markers’ agents :

(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing
or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated
to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New
Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand
Trotting Association :

(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort
with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible
means of support :

(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house breaking
or pocket picking, forgery, uttering, or possessing
counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen
goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of
any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle
and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and
incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences
Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under
the Gaming Act, 1908 :

Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed
by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied
by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person
who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of
this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may
grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time
revoke any such exemption without notice to such person,
and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Opotiki Jockey Club were
made and passed by such club on the 7th day of April, 1936,
and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the
matter of Citrus Products, Limited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the first meeting of creditors
in the above matter will be held at 21 Cobden Street,
Newton, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 8th day of May, 1936,
at 4.30 p.m. Proofs of debts and proxies must be lodged
with the undersigned not later than 5 o’clock on the 5th
day of May, 1936.

NEW BLENHEIM MOTORS, LIMITED.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a general meeting
of the above-named company duly convened and
held on the 23rd day of April, 1936, the following
extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

  1. “That the company cannot by reason of its
    liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable
    to wind up, and that the company be wound up
    voluntarily.”

  2. “That Mr. Frank Mogridge, of Blenheim, be and
    he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Waterworks Loan (No. 1), 1935, of £14,300.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Palmerston North City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £14,300 authorized to be
raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of enabling the City Council
to lay a 21-in. steel water-supply main (including cost of
materials) in Fitzherbert Avenue, from College Street to the
Fitzherbert Bridge, then along the Tiritea Road to the inter-
section of the Fitzherbert Road West, the said Palmerston
North City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
one-eighth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
of the City of Palmerston North comprising the whole of the
City of Palmerston North, and that such special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty
years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Carried this 4th day of May, 1936.

PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Waterworks Loan (No. 2), 1935, of £8,260.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Palmerston North City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £8,260 authorized to be raised
by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of enabling the City Council
to construct and install one 6-in.-diameter artesian well,
storage reservoir of 300,000 gallons capacity, providing two
electrically operated pumps, erection of pumping-house,
laying of 9-in.-diameter main from pumping-house to Ruahine
Street, a 6-in. main along Fitzroy Street to Main Street,
and purchase of land required therefor, the said Palmerston
North City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate
of one-fourteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the City of Palmerston North comprising the
whole of the City of Palmerston North, and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Carried this 4th day of May, 1936.
