HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF AND COMMAND.
Captain A. H. L. Sugden, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles, and Area Officer, Area 7A, Napier, and, on proceeding to England to undergo a series of courses, is seconded. Dated 7th December, 1935.
Captain A. V. Jenkins, 19th Medium Battery, Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, to be Major, and is appointed to command the Battery. Dated 29th August, 1935.
N.Z. STAFF CORPS.
Lieutenant (on probation) W. S. McKinnon, B.Sc., relinquishes his commission. Dated 4th December, 1935.
ROYAL N.Z. AIR FORCE.
Captain H. G. Wilson, M.M., from the Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Army Pay Corps, to be Flying Officer, with seniority from the 24th December, 1931, and is appointed Equipment Officer at the Royal N.Z. Air Force Base, Hobsonville. Dated 24th December, 1935.
THE CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY.
2nd Lieutenant P. N. Wright resigns his commission. Dated 18th November, 1935.
George Grantham Good to be 2nd Lieutenant with seniority next below 2nd Lieutenant R. A. M. Macdonald. Dated 28th August, 1935.
THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain S. H. Lodge is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 2nd December, 1935.
THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain W. J. D. G. Johnston to be Major. Dated 1st September, 1935.
Lieutenant S. M. Porter to be Captain. Dated 1st September, 1935.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants. Dated 1st September, 1935:—

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Captain L. J. Mander, M.M., ceases to be posted to the 4th Field Battery and is posted to the 8th Field Battery. Dated 17th December, 1935.
Lieutenant H. J. Edmonds, from the Waikato Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th September, 1932, and is posted to the 13th Coast Battery. Dated 21st November, 1935.
2nd Lieutenant W. E. Moore, 7th Field Battery, to be Lieutenant. Dated 23rd August, 1935.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants and are posted to the 13th Coast Battery:—
Geoffrey Mortimer Shortt. Dated 1st November, 1935.
Albert Bygrave Chappell. Dated 2nd November, 1935.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.
Lieutenant J. L. Greer, 1st Field Company, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 19th December, 1935.
Andrew Frederick Ewart Tylee, B.Sc., to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 3rd Field Company. Dated 29th August, 1935.
N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Rowland Dasler to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the Southern Depot. Dated 29th August, 1935.
THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).
Lieutenant N. E. W. Barclay, from the Otago Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st November, 1930, and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 25th November, 1935.
The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation), 2nd Cadet Battalion, are confirmed:—

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) L. J. Smith, 1st Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Waikato Regiment. Dated 21st December, 1935.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
Captain M. de R. Petrie, 1st Battalion, is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 30th September, 1935.
2nd Lieutenant H. A. Moffitt, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st November, 1935.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
Lieutenant H. J. Edmonds ceases to be attached to and is transferred to the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 21st November, 1935.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) L. J. Smith, from the Hauraki Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), with seniority from 1st April, 1934, and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 21st December, 1935.
THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants, and are posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 29th August, 1935:—

The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on probation), and are posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion:—

Lieutenant N. E. W. Barclay, 1st Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own). Dated 25th November, 1935.
Lieutenant N. Macdonald, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 7th January, 1932, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 18th December, 1935.
2nd Lieutenant W. S. Boyes, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 20th August, 1935, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 16th October, 1935.
THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant W. S. Boyes, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 16th October, 1935.
THE SOUTHLAND REGIMENT.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) K. E. McKinnon, 1st Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.
N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
Arthur Gordon Hood to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 3rd Composite Company. Dated 29th August, 1935.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant D. R. L. Stevenson, M.B., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Central Command. Dated 17th December, 1935.
John Guy Oliver to be Lieutenant (Quartermaster) and is posted to the 2nd Field Ambulance. Dated 17th December, 1935.
