Vesting a Reserve in the Tuapeka County Council.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day of January, 1936.

Present:

THE HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for a gravel reserve: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Tuapeka:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Tuapeka, in trust, for a gravel reserve.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 42, Block VII, Teviot Survey District: Area, 1 rood 24 perches, more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association (Incorporated).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day of January, 1936.

Present:

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for plantation purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient that the said land should be vested in the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association (Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association (Incorporated), in trust, as a reserve for plantation purposes.

Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, 1927, amended.

AMENDMENTS No. 49.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto the regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces published in the Gazette dated the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and I do hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall take effect as from date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, 1927.

  1. Paragraph 94: Delete the first two lines and substitute the following:—

“Officers on the Active List of the Territorial Force, on being transferred from one unit or corps to another, normally will retain their rank and will be given such seniority in that rank as may be approved by the Commanding Officer of the officer’s new unit and agreed to by the officer concerned, providing that in no case shall the seniority granted be greater than the original seniority held by the officer. Any proposed variance of this procedure will be referred to General Headquarters.”

  1. After paragraph 132 add:—

“132A. In the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, for the purpose of promotion, the names of all officers on the Active List of Artillery units in the same locality will be placed on one list.

“132B. On being posted from one Artillery Group to another within the same locality, an officer, qualified for promotion in his own unit, may be granted temporary higher rank for a period not exceeding twelve months, within which time he will be required to qualify in the particular subject or subjects peculiar to his new group. On qualifying in such subject or subjects for the higher rank, and providing he has fulfilled the provisions of paragraph 133, he will be promoted from the date he was posted to his new unit.”
