Herd-testing Regulations, 1936.—(Notice No. Ag. 3365.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of February, 1936.
Present:
THE HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act, 1934, and for the purpose of securing the effective conduct of the dairy industry, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.
REGULATIONS.
- (1) These regulations may be cited as the Herd-testing Regulations, 1936.
(2) These regulations shall come into force on the date of the publication hereof in the Gazette.
(3) In these regulations, unless inconsistent with the context,—
"Board" means the New Zealand Dairy Board referred to in section 10 of the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act, 1934 :
"Group herd-testing" means the operation of testing substantially the whole of the milch-cows in any two or more herds the property of different persons for the purpose of recording the milk and milk solids production of individual cows within the herds. - The Board shall have authority to regulate and control—
(a) The conduct of group herd-testing, and, in particular, such methods of group herd-testing as have heretofore been regulated and controlled by the Dominion Group Herd-testing Federation, Incorporated ; and
(b) The branding or marking of stock for the purpose of identifying permanently such stock as being of a standard of merit fixed under a group herd-testing system, and, in particular, the system of branding or marking of stock instituted and heretofore controlled by the said Federation. - For the purpose of such regulation and control, the Board may employ Inspectors, computers, clerks, and other servants, and may enter into contracts with individuals and corporate bodies undertaking or concerned in group herd-testing.
- The power conferred on the Director-General of the Department of Agriculture by section 3 of the Stock Amendment Act, 1927, to register in the name of any incorporated society whose object or one of whose objects is the improvement of stock, one or more brands or marks as a standard mark or marks to be used on stock, being stock to which any system of group herd-testing applies or is associated, shall be exercisable only with the prior approval of the Board.

Cancelling the Reservation over a Reserve in the Aohanga Survey District, Wellington Land District.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of February, 1936.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby cancel the reservation for gravel purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Oamaru Borough Council declared a Leasing Authority under the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

WHEREAS the Oamaru Borough Council is a body of persons having power to lease lands held in trust, reserved, or set apart for public purposes, and has requested the Governor-General in Council to declare it to be a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908:
Now, therefore, in compliance with such request, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred by the abovementioned Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and declare that the Oamaru Borough Council is a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

Conferring on Waipa County Council certain Powers of Borough Councils with respect to Waterworks.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of February, 1936.

THE HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him in that behalf by section one hundred and eighty-two of the Counties Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer on the Waipa County Council all the powers with respect to the supply of water for domestic or industrial purposes exercisable by a duly constituted Borough Council under sections eight-two to eighty-four, eighty-six to eighty-eight, Part XX (with the exception of sections two hundred and fifty-one, two hundred and fifty-three, and two hundred and fifty-four), and section three hundred and forty-six of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, but subject to the restriction that such powers shall be exercisable only over that portion of the County of Waipa described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the County of Waipa bounded by a line commencing at the northern corner of Lot 6 on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland as No. 3796; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 6 to and across Lake Crescent Road to the north-western corner of Lot 7 on plan No. 3796 aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the north-western and western boundary of the said Lot 7 to the south-western corner thereof; thence southerly along the southern boundary of the said Lot 7 to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence south-easterly by a right line through part Lot 19 on a plan deposited in the said Land Transfer Office as No. 6968 to a point in the south-eastern boundary of the said part Lot 19, distant 250 links from the northern corner of Lot I on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland as No. 25181; thence northeasterly to the south-western corner of the said Lot I; thence southerly and easterly along the southern boundaries of Lots I, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, II, and 12 on the said plan No. 2518I to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned Lot 12; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of the said Lot 12 to and across Lake Crescent Road to the south-eastern corner of Lot I on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland as No. 12938; thence by the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned Lot I to the Hamilton Lake; thence north-westerly by the shore of the said lake to the northern corner of Lot 6, plan 3796, the place of commencement.
