Revocation of the Reservation of Portion of a Permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

By virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Forests Act, 1921-22, and pursuant to a resolution in that behalf passed by both Houses of Parliament, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the reservation as a permanent State forest of the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, the said land being portion of an area of 1,232 acres transferred to His Majesty the King by Memorandum of Transfer No. 185504, registered on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, Auckland Registration District, whereby the said land was acquired for the purposes of a State forest.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.— ROTORUA FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 395 acres 3 roods, more or less, being portion of Section 13A, Block XV, Rotorua Survey District (and to be known as Section 22, Block XV, Rotorua Survey District), and bounded generally as follows : Commencing at a point in Block XV, Rotorua Survey District, where the middle-line of the Umurua Stream intersects the south-western boundary of part of Okoheriki No. 2D 2 Block ; thence towards the north-east and north-west by part of Okoheriki No. 2D 2 Block aforesaid ; towards the east by Section 3, Block XV, Rotorua Survey District, a river-bank reserve, and the crossing of the Umurua Stream; thence towards the north by the right bank of the Umurua Stream ; towards the south-east by Sections 19 and 18, Block XV, Rotorua Survey District, the abutment of a public road, Okoheriki No. 1D 6B Block, and Section 19, Block XIV, Rotorua Survey District (State Forest—Gazette, 1925, page 579); thence towards the west by Section 16, Block XIV aforesaid; and towards the north-west by the middle-line of the Umurua Stream to the point of commencement ; save and excepting a Native Reserve, being Section 2, Block XV, Rotorua Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 38/38, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Survey Office plan No. 27814.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 16th day of February, 1936.

Revoking the Reservation over a Portion of a Scenic Reserve in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is portion of a reserve duly set apart for scenic purposes:

And whereas the said land is no longer suitable for scenic purposes by reason of the absence of bush of scenic value thereon:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, do hereby revoke the reservation for scenic purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being portion of Section 12, Block IV, Hautapu Survey District, and bounded as follows : Commencing at a point on the eastern side of the Omatane Road, 3748.1 links distant from the north-western corner of the said Section 12, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction by a right line for a distance of 166.7 links ; thence towards the south-east for a distance of 150 links; and thence towards the south-west for a distance of 166.7 links to the eastern side of the Omatane Road ; thence towards the north-west by the said road for a distance of 150 links to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan numbered 241/11, deposited in Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 22nd day of February, 1936.

Altering and redefining the Boundaries of the Peria and Whitehall Rabbit Districts.—(Notice No. Ag. 3362.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of February, 1936.

Present:

THE HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty-three of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is enacted that the boundaries of two or more contiguous rabbit districts may from time to time be altered by the Governor-General in Council in accordance with a resolution passed by the Board of each of the districts affected :

And whereas the districts known as the “Whitehall Rabbit District” and the “Peria Rabbit District” have been constituted and enure for the purposes of Part II of the said Act :

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Board of the Whitehall Rabbit District on the fourteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, and a similar resolution was passed by the Board of the Peria Rabbit District on the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, praying in each case for the alteration of the boundaries of the said districts in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts in accordance with the said resolutions and in the manner hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts so constituted as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Whitehall Rabbit District, shall be added to and form part of the Peria Rabbit District; and that the boundaries of the Whitehall Rabbit District and the Peria Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Second and Third Schedules respectively hereto; and doth further declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE WHITEHALL RABBIT DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN THE PERIA RABBIT DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block IV, Cambridge Survey District, where the north-eastern boundary of Te Tapui Block meets the Piakonui River; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of Te Tapui Block to the easternmost corner of Section 3, Block IV, Cambridge Survey District; thence in a westerly direction generally along the eastern and generally southern boundaries of Section 3 aforesaid and a right line to a point in the middle of a public road opposite the westernmost corner of Section 3 aforesaid; thence along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Te Tapui Block; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along a right line, the north-western boundary of Te Tapui Block, and the Piakonui River, to the point of commencement.
