THE following notices, received from the Mayor, Auckland City Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Auckland was taken on the 23rd day of January, 1935, on the proposal of the Auckland City Council to borrow the sum of £27,400 for the purpose of providing funds pursuant to the provisions of section 8 of the Local Legislation Act, 1934, as set out in paragraphs (a) and (b) of the said sections respectively,—

(a) Providing funds for the payment of compensation payable under any leases granted by the Council or its predecessors in title which have already expired or will expire during the period from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five

(b) Providing funds for the cost of alterations, improvements, and repairs to buildings the leases of which have already expired or will expire during the aforesaid period, including the buildings known as Victoria Arcade, in the City of Auckland

Approving of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve until further notice of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the local authority described in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Redefining Boundaries of the City of Wellington.

Wellington, 24th January, 1935.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the City of Wellington are hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said city having been altered by Order in Council made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, dated the 26th day of November, 1934, and published in Gazette No. 87 of the 29th day of November, 1934.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on high-water mark of Port Nicholson in line with the boundary-line between Sections 7 and 8 of the Harbour Registration District; thence to and along the said boundary-line to the easternmost corner of the area of land contained in certificate of title Vol. 223, folio 65, and along the southern boundaries generally of that area of land to the north-eastern boundary of Section 7 aforesaid; thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of said Section 7 to the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Harbour District; thence along the north-eastern boundary of Section 4 aforesaid to the Wellington-Auckland Railway Reserve in Section 3, Porirua; along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid railway reserve to the north-eastern boundary of Section 5, Porirua, along the north-eastern boundary of that section to the south-eastern boundary of Section 107, Ohariu; thence along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 107 aforesaid, the south-western boundary of Section 95, Ohariu, to the southernmost corner of Section 94; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 94 aforesaid and that line produced across the Old Ohariu Road, and along the northern side of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 93, Ohariu; thence to and along the north-western boundary of Section 93, Ohariu, a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 9, Kaiwarra; along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 9, Kaiwarra, to the northernmost corner of Section 7, Kaiwarra; along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Section 7 to the northernmost corner of Subdivision I of the Otari Native Reserve; along the north-western boundaries of Subdivisions Nos. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII, Otari Reserve, and the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned subdivision and its prolongation to the right bank of the Kaiwara Stream, and along the right bank of that stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the Otari Native Reserve; thence to and along that boundary and south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 33, 35, 37, 39, 40, 41, and 42, Karori Registration District, to the eastern side of the Makara Road; thence southerly along that side of the said road and the eastern boundary of that part of Section 42 shown on deposited plan A/1773 to the northern side of Allington Road; thence south-westerly along that side of the said road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of an area of 14 acres 1 rood 32-7 perches shown on deposited plan A/2539; thence to and along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that area, along the north-eastern boundary of Section 53, Karori Registration District; thence along the north-western, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries of Section 54, Karori Registration District, to and along the south-western boundary of Section 45 of the said district; thence along the southern boundaries of that section and Section 47 of the said district
