A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for irrigation purposes (Maniototo Scheme); and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart: 2 roods.

Being Sections 6 and 8.

Situated in Block VIII, Town of Ranfurly.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 87108, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 6th day of July, 1935.

Land in Block III, Waitara Survey District, Clifton County, taken for the Purpose of a Site for the Storage and Fabrication of Materials, and Storage and Repair of Vehicles, Machinery, and other Plant for use by or on behalf of the Corporation of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Clifton in carrying out any Public Works which the Council of the County may be lawfully authorized to carry out.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purpose of a site for the storage and fabrication of materials, and storage and repair of vehicles, machinery, and other plant for use by or on behalf of the Corporation of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Clifton in carrying out any public works which the Council of the County may be lawfully authorized to carry out, and shall vest in the said Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Clifton as from the date herein-after mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five.

Amending Regulations under the Hunter Gift for the Settlement of Discharged Soldiers Act, 1921.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of July, 1935.

Present:

THE HON. SIR ALFRED RANSOM PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Hunter Gift for the Settlement of Discharged Soldiers Act, 1921 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and in pursuance and exercise of every other power enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend, in the manner and to the effect set forth in the Schedule hereto, the regulations under the said Act made on the sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the nineteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at page 2230, as amended by the regulations made on the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette of the nineteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, at page 1293 (hereinafter referred to as “the said regulations”).


SCHEDULE.

CLAUSE 9 of the said regulations is hereby amended by omitting from the definition of “Orphan child” the words “or a child legally adopted by such discharged soldier before leaving New Zealand on active service,” and substituting the words “or a child legally adopted by such discharged soldier prior to his decease.”

Authorizing Hamilton Joseph Redwood, of Okoha, Havelock, to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 3rd day of July, 1935.

Present:

THE HON. SIR ALFRED RANSOM PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to Hamilton Joseph Redwood, of Okoha, Havelock, a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of an unnamed stream in Section 4, Block III, Gore Survey District, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding one-eighth of a cubic foot per second at any one time.


CONDITIONS.

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS.

THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations, 1934, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
