Additional Land at Puketeraki taken for the Purposes of the
Waitaki-Bluff Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Waitaki-Bluff
Railway to take further land at Puketeraki, in addition to
land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections
thirty-four and two hundred and sixteen of the Public Works
Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is
herby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 6 acres O roods
5 perches.
Part of Section 10, Block XII, Waikouaiti Survey District,
Waikouaiti County.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked L.O. 3448, deposited in the
office of the Government Railways Board at Wellington, and
thereon coloured violet.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 1st day of
June, 1935.

Altering and proclaiming Districts under the Maori Councils
Act, 1900.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section three of the Maori Councils Act,
1900, it is provided that the Governor may proclaim
any district a Maori District for the purpose of the said Act,
and may at any time alter or revoke such Proclamation :
And whereas by Proclamation made under his hand on the
twenty-sixth day of December, one thousand nine hundred,
as amended by Proclamations dated the twenty-fifth day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and the nineteenth
day of May, one thousand nine hundred and ten, the Governor
did proclaim certain districts, including, inter alia, the Mania-
poto District, the Tongariro District, and the Whanganui
District to be Maori Districts for the purpose of the said
Act: And whereas it is desirable to alter the boundaries of
the Maniapoto District, the Tongariro District, and the
Whanganui District :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pur-
suance of the powers conferred upon me by the hereinbefore-
recited section of the Maori Councils Act, 1900, and every
other power thereunto me enabling, do hereby revoke the
said Proclamation of the twenty-sixth day of December,
one thousand nine hundred, as amended by Proclamations
dated the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and seven, and the nineteenth day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and ten, in so far as it affects the Maniapoto,
Tongariro, and Whanganui Maori Districts ; and in lieu
thereof I hereby proclaim the districts the names and
boundaries whereof are set out in the Schedule hereto to be
Maori Districts for the purpose of the Maori Councils
Act, 1900.

SCHEDULE.
TAUMARUNUI DISTRICT.
All that area situated in the Auckland, Taranaki, and Wel-
ington Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at
Hikurangi Trig. Station No. 1387; thence north-westerly
along a right line to the northernmost corner of Rangitoto-
Tuhua 60A 3B Block; thence along the north-western boundary
of that block to Pukepoto Trig. Station; thence due south
along a right line to its intersection with a right line running
from the confluence of the Ongarue and Taringamutu Rivers
to the eastern termination of the confiscation-line; thence
westerly along that line to the Ohura River; thence down
the Ohura River to the Wanganui River, and down the
Wanganui River to the southern boundary of the Kaitieke
County; thence along the southern and eastern boundaries
of the Kaitieke County, as described in New Zealand Gazette,
1927, page 1959, to the Wanganui River; thence down the
Wanganui River to its confluence with the Waipari Stream;
thence north-easterly along a right line to the Waituhi Trig.
Station; thence north-westerly along a right line to Hikurangi
Trig. Station, the point of commencement.

MANIAPOTO DISTRICT.
All that area situated in the Auckland and Taranaki Land
Districts, bounded towards the north generally by the left
bank of the Waikato River from its confluence with the
Kopokorahi Stream to the south-eastern boundary-line of
Wharepuhunga Block; thence by the south-eastern boundary-
line of the said Wharepuhunga Block to Tapororoa; thence
by the south-western boundary-line of Wharepuhunga Block
aforesaid to the Mangatutu Stream; thence by the said
Mangatutu Stream to its confluence with the Puniu River;
thence by the left bank of the said Puniu River to the northern
boundary-line of the original Mangauika Block (No. 6210);
thence by the northern boundary of the said Mangauika
Block to Mahaukura; thence by the northern boundary-line
of the forest reserve to its north-western corner; thence by
a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 3, Block I,
Pirongia Survey District; thence by the northern boundary-
lines of Sections 3, 2, and 1 of the said Block I, the northern
boundary-line of Section 1, Block IV, Kawhia North Survey
District, and the northern boundary-line of Pirongia West
Block (No. 6221) and of Mangaora Block to Kawhia Harbour;
then by a right line across Kawhia Harbour to the north-
eastern corner of Taharoa "A" Block (No. 6206A) on Kawhia
Harbour: thence by the eastern and south-eastern boundary-
lines of the said Taharoa "A" Block to the Taharoa "B"
No. 1 Block (No. 6206B); thence by the north-eastern,
south-eastern, and southern boundary-lines of the said
Taharoa "B" No. 1 Block to the mouth of the Waihekura
Stream on the west coast; thence towards the west by the
ocean to Parininihi (White Cliffs); thence towards the south
by the confiscation boundary-line to its eastern termination;
then along a right line in the direction of the confluence of
the Ongarue and Taringamutu Rivers to the Ohura River;
then along the northern boundary of the Taumarunui
Maori Council District hereinbefore described to its inter-
section by a right line running from the confluence of the
Ongarue and Taringamutu Rivers to Trig. Station No. 1389
(Moutere); thence along that line to Trig. Station 1389
aforesaid; thence by a right line to Trig. Station 1390
(Pureora); thence by a right line to the confluence of the
Waikato River and the Kopokorahi Stream, the place of
commencement.

TONGARIRO DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland, Hawke's Bay, and Wellington
Land Districts, bounded towards the north generally by the
Waikato River from its confluence with the Kopokorahi
Stream to the southern boundary of Te Arawa District, as
described in New Zealand Gazette, 1901, page 14; thence by
the said Te Arawa District to the western boundary of the
Matatua District, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1901,
page 13; thence towards the east generally by the said
Matatua District to the Napier-Taupo Road at or near
Runanga; thence by a right line to the intersection of the
39th parallel of south latitude by the meridian of 176° 30'
east longitude; thence by a right line to Otupae Mountain
(Trig. Station No. 9); thence by the summit of the Ruahine
Range to a point due east of the source of the Kawhatau
River; thence towards the south generally by a right line
to the source of the said Kawhatau River, and by that river
to its confluence with the Rangitikei River; thence towards
the south-west generally by the Rangitikei River to its con-
fluence with the Hautapu River, and by the said Hautapu
River to the Waiouru-Te Hora Road; thence by that
road to Waiouru; thence by a right line in the direction of
the confluence of the Pungapunga and Wanganui Rivers to
the southern boundary of the Taumarunui District herein-
before described; thence by the southern, eastern, and
northern boundaries of the said Taumarunui District to the
south-eastern boundary of the Maniapoto District herein-
before described; thence by the south-eastern boundary of
the aforesaid Maniapoto District to the confluence of the
Kopokorahi Stream with the Waikato River, the place of
commencement.

WHANGANUI DISTRICT.
All that area in the Wellington and Taranaki Land Dis-
tricts, bounded towards the north by the Taumarunui District
hereinbefore described from the Wanganui River to the
south-western boundary of the Tongariro District herein-
before described; thence by the south-western boundary of
the said Tongariro District to Waiouru; thence towards the
