APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Naseby.
P URSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned William Currie, of Hyde, Miner, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right : 25/1/35 ; No. 44036.

SCHEDULE.
Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points : Commencing in Muddy Creek on Section 11, Block XII, Rock and Pillar District, at the mouth of a rocky gorge ; running thence south-west and later west through the said section into Section 47, Block VII, of the said district, and terminating at applicant’s claim.
Length and intended course of race : One mile south-west, half a mile west.
Points of intake : One, as above.
Estimated time and cost of construction : Already constructed ; six months ; £40 to reconstruct.
Mean depth and breadth : 1 ft. deep., 2 ft. wide.
Number of heads to be diverted : Three.
Purpose for which water is to be used : Mining.
Proposed term of license : Twenty-one years.

POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the electric-power Boards Act, 1926, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling, the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing for payment of the principal and interest and other charges on a loan of twenty thousand pounds (£20,000) (being part of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board Extensions Loan of £68,000 (1930)), authorized to be raised by the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for constructing works, increasing the capacity of lines, and incidentals and works in connection with the extension of the reticulation system, in respect of which latter works guarantees as described in clause 12 (1) of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927, have first been given in favour of the Power Board for payments amounting in each of not less than ten consecutive years from the completion of such works to at least fifteen per cent. of the estimated cost of such works, the said Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-thirtieth of one penny (1/30d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Poverty Bay Electric-power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said area dated the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is duly paid up.”
