At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of May, 1935.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-eight of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

The Kaikohe Town Board

to be the Kaikohe Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Kaikohe Public Library as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Harold Leslie McMillan,

Lawry Hamilton Knight, and

Alfred Charles Whiting

to be the Ongarue Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, at half past two o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Town Hall, Ongarue, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

ONGARUE DOMAIN.

Section 4, Block I, Tuhua Survey District, Auckland Land District: Area, 22 acres 2 roods.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood 32-8 perches, more or less, comprising Subdivision 1 of Section 2, Subdivision 1 of Section 9, Subdivision 2 of Subdivision 1 of Section 1, and Subdivision 2 of Subdivision 2 of Section 1, all in Block X, Tangitu Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by Subdivision 5 of Section 9, 670-48 links; towards the south-east by the said Subdivision 5, 92-16 links, Subdivision 2 of Section 2, 495-38 links, and Subdivision 1 of Subdivision 2 of Section 1, 80 links; towards the south-west by the said Subdivision 1 of Subdivision 2 of Section 1, 420-45 links, and Subdivision 1 of Subdivision 1 of Section 1, 249-97 links; and towards the north-west by the Tauramunui—Ta Kuiti Road, 061-52 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/469a, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

License authorizing Hector B. Walker, of Richardson Street, Port Nelson, to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of May, 1935.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE E. A. RANSOM PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to Hector B. Walker a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of an unnamed stream situated in Section 51, Block IV, Inangahua Survey District, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding one cubic foot per second at any one time.

CONDITIONS.

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations, 1934, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.

Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the stream at the point in Section 51, Block IV, Inangahua Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 87931, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works.

  1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.

The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 87931:—

(a) Headworks consisting of an intake and water-race and pipe-lines leading to the water-wheel and powerhouse hereinafter referred to.

(b) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the main drain.

(c) A power-house with all necessary equipment, including water turbines, generators, transformers, lightning-arresters, switchboards, switches, exciters, and other appliances for generating electricity.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

This license shall, unless sooner determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1956.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (c) of clause 5 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927. The generating and transmission voltages shall be approximately 230 volts direct current.

  1. RENTAL.

For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant installed. The present plant is rated at 2·5 kilowatts, and falls within the classes described in paragraph (b) of clause (2) of Regulation 6 of the Water-power Regulations, 1934.
