Dampier-Crossley, of Hawarden, a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of the stream situated in Run 141a, Block VII, Noble Survey District, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding one cubic foot per second at any one time.

CONDITIONS.

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS.

THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations, 1934, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.

Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the stream at the point indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 89121, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works.

  1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.

The licensee is hereby authorized to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the position of the works being indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 89121 hereinbefore referred to :—

(a) Headworks consisting of an intake and water-race and pipe-lines leading to the water-wheel and power-house hereinafter referred to.

(b) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the said stream.

(c) A power-house with all necessary equipment, including water turbines, generators, transformers, lightning-arresters, switchboards, switches, exciters, and other appliances for generating electricity.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

This license shall, unless sooner determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1956.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (c) of clause 5 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 110 volts direct current.

  1. RENTAL.

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of the license, the licensee shall install a maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, or, failing such installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant is rated at 400 watts, and falls within the classes described in paragraph (b) of clause (2) of Regulation 6 of the Water-power Regulations, 1934.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of May, 1935.

THE HONOURABLE E. A. RANSOM PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that opossums may be taken or killed within the acclimatization districts specified in the Schedule hereto, except in any sanctuary other than a scenic reserve, subject in all cases to the general regulations made by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and to the special conditions specified in connection with each district.

SCHEDULE.

BULLER ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.

(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17 of 12th March, 1925, at page 749.)

  1. Area where opossums may be taken : That portion of the district lying south of a line drawn from the mouth of the Waimangaroa River on the west to Bald Hill in the Lyell Range on the east.

  2. Season : Noon on 1st June to noon on 1st August, 1935 (inclusive).

  3. License fee : £2.

  4. Officers authorized to issue trappers’ licenses : Chief Postmaster, Westport ; Postmaster, Ikamatua.

EAST COAST ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.

  1. Season : Noon on 1st July to noon on 1st September, 1935 (inclusive).

  2. License fee : £2.

  3. Officer authorized to issue trappers’ licenses : Chief Postmaster, Gisborne.
