Station; thence by the said right line to the last-mentioned trig. station and along the summit of the range to the Waikaremoana Block, and by the western boundary of that block and the northern and north-western boundaries of the Maungataniwha Block to the centre of the Te Hoe river; thence by the centre of the Te Hoe River to a point in line with the north-western corner of Section 1, Block IX, Waitara Survey District, by a right line to the aforesaid north-western corner of the last-mentioned Section 1; thence by the north-western and north-eastern boundary of the said Section 1 produced to the middle of the Mohaka river; thence towards the south generally by the boundary of the Hawke’s Bay Land District hereinbefore described to the sea at Ngakau-o-te-Paritu; thence towards the east and north generally by the sea to a point in the middle of the entrance to the Ohiwa Harbour, the point of commencement, including all adjacent islands.

Amending Waimakariri River Trust Loans Conversion Order, 1934.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of April, 1935.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by subsection two of section thirteen of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and of all other powers and authorities in this behalf him enabling, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and by way of amendment of the Waimakariri River Trust Loans Conversion Order, 1934, made on the eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and published in the Gazette of the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, doth hereby prescribe and order as follows:—
(1) This Order may be cited as the Waimakariri River Trust Loans Conversion Amendment Order (No. 2), 1935, and shall be read together with and form part of the Waimakariri River Trust Loans Conversion Order, 1934 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).
(2) This Order shall be deemed to have come into force on the eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, the date of the making of the principal Order.
(3) Clause thirteen of the principal Order is hereby amended by deleting from subclause two thereof all the words after “for a sum,” and substituting therefor the words “of not less than five pounds.”

Board of Trade (Cinematograph Films) Regulations, 1935.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section twenty-six of the Board of Trade Act, 1919, section forty-three of the Cinematograph Films Act, 1928, and section thirteen of the Cinematograph Films Amendment Act, 1934, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby, on the recommendation of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, make the following Board of Trade Regulations relating to the regulation and control of the exhibition of cinematograph films.
REGULATIONS.

These regulations may be cited as the Board of Trade (Cinematograph Films) Regulations, 1935, and shall come into force on the date following the publication hereof in the Gazette.

In these regulations the term “Minister” means the Minister of Industries and Commerce.

Whenever the Minister is satisfied—
(a) That any locality has within it one or more cinematograph theatres where public exhibitions of films are given by an exhibitor or exhibitors licensed under the Cinematograph Films Act, 1928, so as to provide adequately for the normal requirements of the locality, having regard to the entertainment value of the films exhibited, the theatre accommodation provided, the prices charged for admission, and any other relevant considerations; and either
(b) That, in view of the conditions existing in the industry and the limited number of films of reasonable exhibition value obtainable in the market, the opening of any additional cinematograph theatre or theatres in the locality would cause undue hardship to such licensed exhibitor or exhibitors; or
(c) That the erection of an additional cinematograph theatre or theatres in the locality would be likely to result in an unreasonable economic waste;
the Minister may direct the officers appointed to receive applications for and to issue such licenses that no exhibitor’s license under the Cinematograph Films Act, 1928, shall be issued in respect of any theatre in such locality except the theatre or theatres in respect of which such licenses have been issued prior to the Minister’s direction.

Any such direction may be at any time revoked by the Minister.

No exhibitor’s license shall be issued in breach of any such direction of the Minister.
