Creek in Block XI of the said survey district; thence along the right bank of the said Newton's Creek and the Arahura River to a point opposite Island Creek in Block XIV, Turiwhate Survey District; thence across the Arahura River and along the left bank of the said Island Creek to the northern bush-edge of the Newton Range; thence westerly along the bush-edge of the said Newton Range to the eastern boundary of Butler's Freehold (Reserve No. 145); thence northerly along that boundary to a point 3000 links south of the south bank of the Arahura River; thence easterly along a line parallel to and 3000 links south of the south bank of the Arahura River to the western boundary of Section 801; thence along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Section 801 to a point 3000 links south of the south bank of the Arahura River; thence easterly along a line parallel to the south bank of the Arahura River to the eastern boundary of Reserve 1617 (Gazette, 1920, page 2840); thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said reserve to a point 3000 links north of the north bank of the Arahura River; thence westerly along a line parallel to the north bank of the Arahura River to the eastern boundary of Butler's Freehold (Reserve No. 145); thence northerly along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Section 3069, and along the said south-eastern boundary and its production across the Wainihinihi Creek; thence along the right bank of the Wainihinihi Creek to the eastern boundary of Butler's Freehold (Reserve No. 145); thence along that boundary to Lebel Creek, and by the left bank of Lebel Creek and the southern sides of Level Valley and the Kawhaka Roads to the western boundary of Section 3582; thence along the said western and the southern boundaries of said section, the south-western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of Section 2204, and the latter produced to the Rough Wainihinihi Creek; thence following the right bank of the Rough Wainihinihi Creek to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 2076; thence to and along the southern boundary of the said section and its production to the right bank of Lynch Creek; thence northerly along that bank to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 3140; and thence to and along the said boundary to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom all road reserves.
Also all that area containing approximately 13,593 acres, being part of Provisional State Forest 1618 (Gazette, 1920, page 2340, national-endowment provisional State forest, 620 acres), part of Provisional State Forest 1619 (Gazette, 1920, page 2840, national-endowment provisional State forest, 9,692 acres), part of Provisional State Forest 1676 (Gazette, 1919, page 1287, ordinary provisional State forest, 41 acres), part of Provisional State Forest 1677 (Gazette, 1919, page 1286, ordinary provisional State forest, 2,720 acres), and Crown land (520 acres), situated in Blocks IV, VIII, and XII, Turiwhate, and Blocks V, VI, VII, IX, X, and XIII, Otira Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the most northern corner of Section 2395, Block V, Otira Survey District, and proceeding along its north-western boundary to the Seven-mile Track; thence along the northern side of the said track to a point due east from the southern corner of Section 3302; thence along a right line across the said Seven-mile Track to the said corner of Section 3302; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of that section and Section 2046 and the latter produced across the Seven-mile Track; thence along a right line in a north-easterly direction to the south-western corner of Section 3200 and proceeding along its south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries to Section 2983; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 2983 to its south-eastern corner; thence along a right line in a south-easterly direction to the south-western corner of Section 3326 and along the southern boundary of the said section and the western and southern boundaries of Section 2973 to the latter section's south-eastern corner; thence along a right line in a southerly direction to the south-western corner of Section 2982, Block I, Otira Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of the said Section 2982, 5300 links; thence along a right line in a south-easterly direction to the south-eastern corner of Section 2007, Block VI, Otira Survey District, and produced to the north-western boundary of Arthur Park National Park Reserve 1065 (Gazette, 1929, page 1932); thence along the said north-western boundary of that reserve to the southern boundary of Block XIII, Otira Survey District; thence along the southern and western boundaries of the said Block XIII, Otira Survey District, and the southern boundary of Block XII, Turiwhate Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Pastoral License 1021 (Gazette, 1930, page 1505); thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Pastoral License 1021 to the Taipo River; thence along the right bank of the Taipo River and the left bank of Seven-mile Creek to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 3145, Block V, Otira Survey District; thence to and along the said boundary of that section across a road reserve and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 2011, 2028, and 2036, and the north-eastern boundary of Section 2395 to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom the open tops of the Bald Range. As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 126/58, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests Act, 1921–23, I, Sir Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being portions of Provisional State Forest No. 1614, set apart by Proclamation dated the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted on the fourteenth day of that month, are required for settlement purposes; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such lands shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.
All those areas in the Westland Land District, being parts of Provisional State Forest No. 1614, situated in Block VIII, Kopara Survey District, containing 8 acres 0 roods 6 perches, 1 acre, 2 acres 1 rood 14 perches, and 2 roods 28 perches. As the same are more particularly delineated on plan marked L and S. 10/98/86, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 27th day of March, 1935.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), has recommended that the lands described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Michael Myers, Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be scenic reserves under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.
