Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Pastoral Regulation License.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 26th September, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on Pastoral Regulation License under the regulations for the occupation of pastoral lands within the Karamea and Westland Mining Districts issued under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 10th October, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 11th October, 1934, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Waimea County.—Wangapeka Survey District.—Karamea Mining District.

(National endowment.)

SECTIONS 14 and 15, Block III: Area, 240 acres. Capital value, £72; half-yearly rent, £1 8s. 10d.

Weighted with £150 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising 85 acres of fair pasture and 155 acres of worn-out pasture.

This property is situated at the head of the Ellis River, three miles from Baton Post-office, nine miles from Woodstock School, thirty-two miles from Brightwater Dairy Factory, and fifteen miles from Tapawera Saleyards. Access is by road (in fair condition) from main Motueka River Road. The land is suitable for grazing dry sheep only, being hilly, steep land. The soil is poor quality resting on slaty schist formation; watered by permanent streams. The property is not subdivided, and there are no rabbits, but a little foxglove is in evidence.

Education Reserve in Canterbury Land District for Lease by Tender.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 25th September, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve is offered for lease by tender under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and amendments, and written tenders, addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, and marked “Tender for Education Reserve Lease,” must reach the above-mentioned office not later than 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 2nd November, 1934.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.

Selwyn County.—Hororata Survey District.

RESERVE 1165, Blocks X and XI: Area, 331 acres 3 roods. Minimum annual rental, £70.

Loaded with £125 for improvements, comprising clay dams and approximately 460 chains of fencing payable in cash or by a cash deposit of £25 and the balance to be secured by a mortgage providing for ten half-yearly payments of £10 each, together with interest on the balance outstanding each half-year.

The property is situated on the Wairiri Valley and Downs Road, half a mile from Glenroy Post-office and adjoining the Glenroy School, and seven miles from the Coalgate Railway-station. The soil comprises 4 in. to 6 in. of loam on clay and rock formation. About 140 acres is easy hill country, all in native tussock and brown-top with gorse and manuka scrub spreading over portion; 190 acres is flat and undulating, suitable for cultivation of green feed, roots, and oats. Approximately 20 acres of the area is out of wheat, and 30 acres part fallow.
