Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.
N OTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power and authority vested in the Public Trustee by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Deputy of the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, duly appointed under section 8 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1917, have appointed William John Turnpenny, of the Public Trust Office, Napier, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Napier, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous warrants appointing any Deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Foxton, as from the 27th day of July, 1934.
John Moultrie Ferriday,
to be Registrar of Brands under the Stock Act, 1908, for the Taranaki Branding Registration District, as from the 1st day of July, 1934.
Constable Edward Frank Smith,
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Collingwood for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928 ; and Clerk and Bailiff of the Warden’s Court, Receiver of Gold Revenue, and Mining Registrar at Collingwood for the Karamea Mining District constituted under the Mining Act, 1926, as from the 1st day of August, 1934.

NAPIER HARBOUR BOARD.
In the matter of the Napier Harbour Board Loan Act, 1933.
WE, Trevor Morrin Geddis and John Patrick Kenny, Chairman and Returning Officer respectively for the Napier Harbour Board, hereby give notice that on the 19th day of July, 1934, a poll of ratepayers of the Napier Harbour Rating District was duly held and taken on the proposal to raise a loan of £335,000 for the purposes enumerated in the Napier Harbour Board Loan Act, 1933, and at such poll the number of votes recorded was as follows :—

We hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

Taradale Town Board.—Cancellation of Unexercised Loan Authority.
In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
W HEREAS the Taradale Town Board has been duly authorized to borrow by way of special loan the sum of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) for the purpose of acquiring land and erecting workers’ dwellings thereon, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loan was given by Order in Council made on the 9th day of November, 1928, and published in the Gazette of the 15th day of the same month, at page 3288 :
And whereas in respect of the said sum of £10,000 there has been raised and borrowed for the purpose aforesaid the sum of seven thousand two hundred pounds (£7,200), and it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the amount so authorized :
And whereas the Minister of Finance has duly notified the Taradale Town Board in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authority to the extent of two thousand eight hundred pounds (£2,800) not exercised :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, as amended by section 46 of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 4), and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Taradale Town Board to borrow
