Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 13th June, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands will be offered for sale by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Tuesday, 17th July, 1934, at 11 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

The lands in the First Schedule may be purchased for cash only; the lands described in the Second Schedule may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.

TOWN LAND.

Whangamomona County.—Tahora Township.

SECTION 10: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £8.
Section 11: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £8.
Section 25: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £16.
Section 26: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £12.
Section 31: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £10.
Section 36
: Area, 33·95 perches. Upset price, £12.

  • Section 31 is weighted with £20 and Section 36 with £5 for improvements. These amounts are payable in cash.

These sections situated fronting Tahora Road are all suitable for building-sites.

Whangamomona County.—Whangamomona Township.

Section 23: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £15.
Section 28: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £10.

These sections are situated fronting the Whangamomona Road and have been felled and grassed. Section 23 is fenced in with Section 22 and slopes to the road. Would make a good building-site.

Section 28 is fenced in with Section 27. It is low lying in front and inclined to be swampy and will require a certain amount of filling-in before use for building purposes.

SUBURBAN LAND.

Whangamomona County.—Whangamomona Suburban.

Subdivision 2 of Section 10: Area, 3 acres 3 roods 7·3 perches. Upset price, £8.

This area situated fronting the Ohura Road has been felled and grassed but has now reverted to scrub and second growth.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

TOWN LAND.

Whangamomona County.—Tahora Township.

Sections 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, and 54: Area, 2 acres 1 rood 6·3 perches. Upset price, £50.

Sections 32, 33, 34, and 35: Area, 1 acre. Upset price, £40.

Sections 49 to 54 which are situated fronting Armstrong Street have all been stumped, cultivated, and sown in permanent pasture and are suitable for building-sites. The property is ring-fenced, the fencing being in good condition.

Sections 32 to 35 are situated fronting Tahora Road and are all level sections in rough grass. The Tahoraparoa Stream winds through these sections.

Whangamomona County.—Whangamomona Township.

Section 37, 38, and 39: Area, 3 roods. Upset price, £35.

These sections are situated fronting the Whangamomona Road.

The area which slopes to the road and is ring-fenced has all been felled and grassed and would make good building-sites.

SUBURBAN LAND.

Whangamomona County.—Tahora Suburban.

Sections 56 and 57: Area, 9 acres 3 roods 32 perches. Upset price, £40.

These sections situated fronting Armstrong Street and lying well to the sun are suitable for grazing purposes. About half the area has been cultivated and sown in grass, the balance area being covered with fern and manuka scrub. Practically all ploughable.

Whangamomona County.—Whangamomona Suburban.

Sections 7 and 8: Area, 30 acres 1 rood. Upset price, £65.

This area, which is all in standing bush, is situated fronting the Ohura Road. The property is not fenced and is fairly steep and broken and lies away from the sun.

Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 13th June, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 10th July, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 12th July, 1934, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

The land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Inangahua County.—Inangahua Survey District.—Westland Mining District.

(National Endowment.)

SECTION 38, Block XII: Area, 44 acres. Capital value, £55; half-yearly rent, £1 2s.

Weighted with £90 for improvements comprising whare, 30 chains fencing, 15 acres felled and grassed.

This section is situated on the Reefton–Inangahua Junction Road, one-quarter of a mile from Rotokohu Post-office, School, and Railway-station, twelve miles from the Golden Coast Dairy Factory, and nine miles from Inangahua Junction Saleyards by formed road. The section is suitable for dairying and comprises three terraces—soil fair on lower terrace, poor and stony on top terraces. The land is mostly flat, broken in places and covered with birch bush; watered by creek. Approximately 15 acres in worn-out pasture, 29 acres in natural state. Subdivided into two paddocks, 30 chains of fencing, mostly boundary. Buildings comprise small whare. Blackberries are fairly bad.

Buller County.—Kawatiri Survey District.—Karamea Mining District.

Section 49, Block II: Area, 2 acres. Capital value, £8; half-yearly rent, 3s. 3d.

Weighted with £45 (payable in cash) for improvements comprising 8 chains of fencing and 2 acres cleared, stumped, and grassed.

This area is situated at the end of a side road one mile and a half from Birchfield Post-office, School, and Railway-station, fifteen miles from Buller Valley Dairy Factory, and forty-four miles from Inangahua Junction Saleyards. Access is by formed road to within a few yards of the section. The area is suitable for grazing or dairying in conjunction with adjoining lands. The land is all flat, practically at sea-level, and comprises fair loam resting on gravels and sand; no water on property. About 2 acres bush land felled, stumped, and grassed. There are 8 chains of fencing, but the section has not been subdivided. There are no rabbits or noxious weeds.

THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Murchison County.—Tutaki Survey District.—Westland Mining District.

(National Endowment.)

Sections 4 and 28, Block IX, and Section 8, Block XIII: Area, 365 acres. Capital value, £100; half-yearly rent, £2.

Weighted with £20 (payable in cash) for improvements comprising 160 chains fencing and 60 acres felled and burned.

These sections are situated on the Matakitaiki Road, six miles from Matakitaiki Post-office, ten miles from Upper Matakitaiki School, thirty-six miles from Glenhope Railway-station, eight miles from Murchison Dairy Factory and Saleyards. Access is by good road from Murchison. This land, which is suitable for dairying, comprises about 40 acres flat which is very wet and covered with blackberry and rushes, balance poor hills. The soil is fair on flat, poor on hills, resting on sandstone formation; watered by creeks. Approximately 60 acres felled and grassed now in blackberry and rushes, 305 acres in its natural state, 160 chains fencing of no value. Property not subdivided. Blackberry is very bad. Cream collected from the property.
