Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921-22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Henry Williams, of the Public Trust Office, New Plymouth, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, New Plymouth, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters, and all previous appointments in this behalf are hereby revoked.

Approving of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve until further notice of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the local authorities described in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Classification of Roads in Wallace County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Wallace County Council's proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Wallace County.

SCHEDULE.

WALLACE COUNTY.

Roads classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons:-

Tuatapere-Clifton Main Highway No. 292.

Invercargill-Tuatapere Main Highway No. 147 (all that portion of the main highway between Orepuki and Tuatapere).

Classification of Roads in Murchison County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Murchison County Council's proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Murchison County.

SCHEDULE.

MURCHISON COUNTY.

Roads classified in Class Five: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 3 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons:-

Chalgrave Street, from its junction with Waller Street to its junction with Hotham Street.

Hotham Street, from its junction with Chalgrave Street to a point opposite the Murchison Dairy Factory.

Glenroy Road, from its junction with the Murchison-Reefton Main Highway No. 162 to a point opposite the north-west corner of Section 1, Block X, Matakiki Survey District, a distance of approximately five miles.

Demonetization of Stamps.

JOSEPH GORDON COATES, Minister of Stamp Duties, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 7 of the Finance Act, 1933, hereby give notice of my determination to discontinue the use of the dies from which the stamps or stamped paper referred to in the Schedule hereto have heretofore been printed; and I hereby fix the 31st day of December, 1934, for the purposes of subsection (2) of the said section 7 to the intent that every instrument bearing date after the said 31st day of December, 1934, that is stamped with any of the said discontinued dies and every postal packet that is posted after that day and is stamped with any of those dies shall be deemed to be not duly stamped.

SCHEDULE.

STAMPS.

  1. STAMPS of denominations ½d., ld., 2d., 2½d., 3d., 4d., 5d., 6d., 8d., 9d., ls., 2s., and 5s., depicting New Zealand birds and scenery and issued between 1898 and 1908; and any stamp of this series overprinted in any way.

  2. Stamps of denominations ½d., 2d., 3d., 4d., 5d., 6d., 8d., and ls., bearing a portrait of His late Majesty King Edward VII; and any stamp of this series overprinted in any way.

  3. Id. "Universal Postage" stamp depicting the symbolical figure of "Zealandia"; and any such stamp overprinted in any way.

  4. 1½d. "The Empire's Call" (commemorative of New Zealand contingents, South African War).

  5. ½d. "War Stamp" (½d. stamp bearing portrait of His Majesty King George V overprinted "War Stamp").

  6. 1d. "Universal Postage" stamp depicting coast-line of New Zealand.

  7. "Victory Stamp" series, comprising denominations ¼d., Id., 1½d., 3d., 6d., and ls., issued in 1920 to commemorate termination of the Great War; and any stamp of this series overprinted in any way.

  8. Dunedin Exhibition stamps, 1925, comprising denominations ½d., 1d., and 4d.

  9. "Charity" stamps: (a) 1d. postage 1d. charity, of design depicting head and shoulders of a nurse (issued in 1929).
    (b) 1d. postage 1d. charity, of design depicting head and shoulders of a nurse (issued in 1930).
    (c) 1d. postage 1d. charity, of design depicting head and shoulders of a boy (issued in 1931).
    (d) 2d. postage 1d. charity, of design depicting head and shoulders of a boy (issued in 1931).

  10. Government Life Insurance Department stamps bearing the letters "V.R." comprising denominations ½d., 1d., 2d., 3d., 6d., and Is.

  11. Stamps as follow bearing a portrait of His Majesty King George V—denominations ½d., 1½d., 2½d., 3d., 6d., and 1s. overprinted "Aitutaki", "Niue", "Penrhyn Island", "Rarotonga", or "Samoa"; denomination 2d. overprinted "Rarotonga", or "Samoa"; and denominations 4d., 4½d., 7½d., and 9d. overprinted "Rarotonga".
