Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:

COMMANDS AND STAFF

The period of command of Colonel H. C. Hurst, D.S.O., V.D., A.D.C., 3rd N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade, is extended to 31st May, 1935.

The period of command of Colonel W. H. Cunningham, D.S.O., V.D., A.D.C., 2nd N.Z. Infantry Brigade, is extended to 31st May, 1935.

The period of command of Lieutenant-Colonel J. L. Saunders, D.S.O., V.D., 1st Battalion, The Wellington Regiment, is extended to 31st May, 1935.

The period of command of Lieutenant-Colonel G. F. Bertrand, 1st Battalion, The Taranaki Regiment, is extended to 1st June, 1935.

Captain (Brevet Major) W. Bridgeford, M.C., Australian Staff Corps, having returned to Australia, ceases to be attached to the General Staff. Dated 4th May, 1934.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES

Keith Millington Hayward to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 1st June, 1934.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY

The undermentioned officers, Regimental Supernumerary List, are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 4. Dated 9th May, 1934:

N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Lieutenant F. V. Saunders, Regimental Supernumerary List, is posted to the Central Depot, and is appointed Quartermaster. Dated 1st June, 1934.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) F. R. Husband, Northern Depot, is confirmed.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY'S OWN)

2nd Lieutenant T. H. McCombs, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 15th November, 1932, and is posted to the 3rd Cadet Battalion. Dated 21st May, 1934.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) D. N. McRobie, 3rd Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT

Lieutenant R. Arbuckle, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 16th September, 1933.

2nd Lieutenant S. N. Inglis, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 4. Dated 15th May, 1934.

Wilfred Charles Arthur Aldis to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st March, 1934.

Francis Oscar Burtt to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 31st March, 1934.

Lieutenant C. L. Brett, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 10th April, 1934.

THE HAWKE'S BAY REGIMENT

Lieutenant A. E. Burge, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 28th May, 1934.

Major (Quartermaster) F. N. Whitcombe, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 8. Dated 29th May, 1934.
