NOTICE is hereby given that the matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land Court sitting at Kaikohe on the 4th July, 1934, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection on Optional Tenure.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 6th June, 1934.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenure under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 10th July, 1934.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 12th July, 1934, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hawke’s Bay County.—Puketapu Survey District.
(Native Land Settlement.)
SECTION 7, Block VIII: Area, 387 acres 3 roods 31 perches. Capital value, £1,750: Deposit on deferred payments, £90; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £53 19s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £43 15s.
Weighted with £640 for improvements, consisting of dwelling, cow-byre, certain boundary and subdivisional fencing, ditches and drains, felling and grassing. This sum may be paid in cash or by a deposit of £40, the balance being secured by an instalment-mortgage, term thirty-six years and a half, interest 5 per cent. to a returned soldier, or term thirty-four years and a half, interest 5½ per cent. to all others. The improvements which are included in the capital value consist of certain boundary-fencing valued at £40.
This property, which is subdivided into three large and two small paddocks, is suitable for sheep-farming, and to a limited extent for dairying. Situated on the Pakuratahi Settlement Road, five miles from Tangoio School and Post-office, thirteen miles from Napier Railway-station, and twenty-six miles from Heretaunga Dairy Factory and Stortford Lodge Saleyards by good metalled road. The section possesses a frontage flat of about 10 acres, the balance being open pastoral country intersected by deep open gullies, easy flat ridges falling in steep faces. About 8 acres in good English pasture, 2 acres lately cropped, 2 acres swamp land, and the balance danthonia-grass country. The soil is fair loam resting on clay formation; watered by good running streams and springs. Manuka scrub and blackberry require keeping in check.
