Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Deputy Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service :—
Thomas O’Hare
to be Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court, Rotorua, for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, as from the 1st day of June, 1934.
Cecil Clarence Holt King,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Weber, as from the 2nd day of May, 1934.
William Albert Gundy,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Kaiapoi, as from the 1st day of May, 1934.
Constable George Alcorn Baskin,
to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Marton for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 8th day of May, 1934.
John Hastilow Hale,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Picton, as from the 4th day of May, 1934.
Matthew Brian Maguire,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Mokai, as from the 8th day of May, 1934.
Constable Harold Jackson Thompson,
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Lumsden for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 7th day of May, 1934.

Classification of Roads in Thames County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Thames County Council’s proposed alteration in the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Thames County.

THAMES COUNTY.
ROADS classified in Class Five : Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 3 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons :—
Corbetts Road, Factory North Road, Factory South Road, Maratoto Road, Matatoki Road, O’Neals Road, Puriri-Neavesville Road, Puriri Valley Road, Puriri Wharf Road, Tararu Stream Road, Townsends Road, Warahoe East Road, Warahoe West Road.

Classification of Streets in Thames Borough.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that the streets described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Thames Borough, shall belong to the class of streets shown in the said Schedule.

Notifying Land in Auckland Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 9th May, 1934.
PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being the land known as Ngahinapouri Settlement, was acquired by the Crown on the 30th day of May, 1919, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, as from that date.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NGAHINAPOURI SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Waipa County, situated in Block XII, Alexandra Survey District, containing by admeasurement 219 acres 3 roods, more or less, and being parts of Allotments 299, 300, and 301, and Allotment 253, Tuhikaramea Parish, being all of the land contained in Deed of Conveyance 268609 ; Allotments 252 and 263 of the aforesaid parish, being all of the land contained in Deed of Conveyance 268608 ; and Allotment 254, also of the aforesaid parish, and being all of the land contained in Certificate of Title, Volume 257, folio 75. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 21/141A, deposited under No. 2687 in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
