“ (4) A part-time school is established as a full-time school ;
“ (5) A public school is established as a district high school, or a district high school is disestablished ;
“ (6) A special class is established or disestablished in connection with a public school ;
“ (7) An intermediate department is attached to, or ceases to be attached to, a public school ;
“ (8) A public school becomes, or ceases to be, a contributing school ;
“ (9) The attendance of one or more schools is affected by the consolidation of two or more schools or by the opening of a school in a new building on a new site, or by any other cause approved by the Minister for the purpose of this clause ;
“ then, in any of these cases, the school or group of schools so established shall be deemed to be a new school.”

PUBLIC SCHOOLS : SALARIES, GRADING, STAFFING, ETC.

  1. The regulations relating to public schools (salaries, grading, staffing, &c.) made by Orders in Council as shown in the attached Schedule are hereby amended by—
    (1) Adding the following to clause 1 : “ A ‘ contributing school ’ means a public school from which pupils of the senior division have been removed to an intermediate school or to an intermediate department of a school.”
    (2) Inserting in subclause (1) of clause 4, after the words “ Schedules I,” the figure and letter “ IA.”
    (3) Inserting in subclause (1) of clause 4, after the words “ Schedule I—Mixed Schools,” the words “ (not including contributing schools).”
    (4) Inserting in subclause (1) of clause 4, after Schedule I, the following Schedule :—

SCHEDULE IA.—CONTRIBUTING SCHOOLS.

Grade of School. Average Attendance. Grade of Salary of Head Teacher. Number of Male Assistants of each Grade. Infant-mistress of Salary Grade. Number of other Female Assistants of each Grade. Total Number of Assistants. Probationary Assistants.
