HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. N. Rishworth, M.B.E., N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Director of Dental Services, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 2nd January, 1934.
Major B. S. Finn, D.S.O., N.Z. Dental Corps, is appointed Director of Dental Services, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 3rd January, 1934.
Captain I. R. Withell, B.Sc., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, having returned to New Zealand after completion of a tour of instruction in England, ceases to be seconded, and is appointed Inspecting Ordnance Officer and Ordnance Mechanical Engineer. Dated 18th December, 1933.
Lieutenant S. B. Wallace, B.E., N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, is appointed Assistant Inspecting Ordnance Officer and Assistant Ordnance Mechanical Engineer, Main Ordnance Depot, Trentham. Dated 12th December, 1933.
N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.
Sinclair Banks Wallace, B.E., to be Lieutenant. Dated 12th December, 1933.
NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.
Major J. F. Potter, v.d., from the Reserve of Officers, Auckland Mounted Rifles, to be Major, with seniority from the 28th November, 1930. Dated 30th November, 1933.
THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant L. J. Bell to be Captain. Dated 5th November, 1933.
THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.
Norman Latham Berry to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 25th August, 1933.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.
Jack Lee Murdoch to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 8th December, 1933.
REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
The undermentioned Lieutenants are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b):—

H. McC. Taylor, Regimental Supernumerary List. Dated 17th December, 1933.
Lieutenant C. M. Gray, The Canterbury Regiment, is attached, and posted to the Southern Artillery Group (St. Andrew’s College Cadets, Artillery Section). Dated 2nd December, 1933.
Edward Mason Luxford to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 15th Coast Battery. Dated 24th August, 1933.
THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
Lieutenant C. M. Gray, Regimental Supernumerary List, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 2nd December, 1933.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.
Lieutenant S. Frickleton, V.C. (Retired List) to be Captain, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 12th December, 1933.
2nd Lieutenant W. L. Britton, Regimental Supernumerary List, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 21st December, 1933.
THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants, and are posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 24th August, 1933:

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.
Captain A. C. Rowe, 1st Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 12th December, 1933.

Lieutenant I. S. Gardiner, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 24th August, 1933.
Lieutenant C. M. Gray, from the Hauraki Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 7th December, 1928, and is attached to the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 2nd December, 1933.
