HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
George Druitt,
William Thomas Hall,
Leonard Alexander Hawkins,
James Pilling Hemphill,
Charles Wesley Jones, and
Martin James Nash
to be Inspectors for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, for the Hobson County, the appointments to date from the 1st day of March, 1934.

Ashburton Borough Council.
CANCELLATION OF UNEXERCISED LOAN AUTHORITY.
In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Ashburton Borough Council has been duly authorized to borrow by way of special loan the sum of two thousand three hundred pounds (£2,300) for water-supply purposes, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loan was given by Order in Council made on the 6th day of January, 1933, and published in the Gazette on the 12th day of the same month, at page 19 :
And whereas in respect of the said sum of £2,300 there has been raised and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the sum of two thousand two hundred pounds (£2,200), and it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the amount so authorized :
And whereas the Minister of Finance has duly notified the Ashburton Borough Council in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authority in so far as it has not been exercised :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, as amended by section 46 of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 4), and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Ashburton Borough Council to borrow under the loan authority hereinbefore referred to the sum of one hundred pounds (£100), being an amount in respect of which the said loan authority has not been exercised : Provided always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in all respects of the amount of £2,200 already borrowed pursuant to the said loan authority.

MILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Milton taken on the twenty-third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, on the proposal of the Milton Borough Council to borrow the sum of seven thousand pounds for the purpose of providing relief for unemployment by the construction of works for the improvement of the borough’s water-supply (to include the installation of a seven-inch steel main), the number of votes recorded for the proposal was three hundred and seventeen (317), and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was forty-four (44).
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Classification of Roads in Taranaki County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Taranaki County Council’s proposed classification or proposed alteration in classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Taranaki County.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI COUNTY.
Roads classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons :—
Auckland–Wellington, via Taranaki, Main Highway No. 1 (all that portion within Taranaki County).
Lepperton Junction–Hawera, via Opunake, Main Highway No. 36 (all that portion within Taranaki County).
New Plymouth–Kaimata Main Highway No. 37 (all that portion within Taranaki County).
Egmont Road–Radius Line Main Highway No. 38 (all that portion within Taranaki County).
