Classification of Gore–Te Anau–Milford Sound Main Highway.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Main Highways Board’s proposed classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Wallace and Lake Counties.

SCHEDULE.

WALLACE AND LAKE COUNTIES.

ROAD classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons:—

Gore–Te Anau–Milford Sound Main Highway No. 134 (all that portion commencing at a point opposite the Te Anau Jetty in the Te Anau Township, and terminating at the southern bank of the Cascade Creek).

Defining a Water-supply Area including the Downs Settlement and other Lands in Otago Land District.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 14th February, 1934.

WHEREAS by section 15 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1932, provision is made with respect to the supply of water to lands in the Downs Settlement and certain other lands in the Otago Land District:

And whereas by subsection (2) of the said section the Minister of Lands is empowered to define by notice in the Gazette the area within which water may be supplied for irrigation and other purposes:

And whereas it is further provided that the area so defined shall include the Downs Settlement and the lands described in subsection (7) of the said section 15:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the powers conferred upon me by the said subsection (2), I hereby notify and define the area in the Schedule hereto as the area within which water may be supplied in accordance with the purposes of the said section 15.

SCHEDULE.

(1) ALL the lands known as the Downs Settlement, being the lands particularly described in (a) a notification under the hand of the Minister of Lands, published in Gazette of the 2nd day of June, 1932, at page 1401; (b) a Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General dated the 26th day of May, 1932, and published in Gazette of the 2nd day of June, 1932, at page 1399; (c) a Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, dated the 13th day of July, 1932, and published in Gazette of the 21st day of July, 1932, at page 1714: as the said lands are more particularly delineated on the plans marked L. and S. 21/149/323, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, under numbers 2517 and 2575.

(2) Part Section 6, Block VII, Blackstone Survey District, containing 315 acres 2 roods 4 perches. Section 7, Block VII, Blackstone Survey District, containing 320 acres. Section 4, Block X, Blackstone Survey District, containing 307 acres 2 roods 16 perches.

(3) Section 7, Block X, Blackstone Survey District, containing 283 acres 2 roods, being part of the land comprised in Lease in Perpetuity, Volume 150, folio 7, Otago Registry.
