NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this twenty-first day of August, 1933, cancelled the registry of Ellerslie United Branch, No. 10, of The Grand United Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society of New Zealand (Register No. 373/10), held at Ellerslie, Auckland, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at Commerce Building, Broadway Avenue, Palmerston North, on Thursday, the seventh day of September, 1933, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidator thereof, shall be disposed of.

TIMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Timaru Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of £45,500 (to be known as “The Timaru Borough Consolidated Renewal Loan No. 3”), authorized to be raised by the Timaru Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of repaying the balance owing in respect of the following loans—namely, the Timaru Borough Kerbing and Channelling No. 1 Loan, £10,000 (£8,871); the Timaru Borough Drainage and Sewage No. 7 Loan, £7,000 (£6,214); the Timaru Borough Waterworks No. 5 Loan, £31,000 (£27,521); the Timaru Borough Waterworks No. 6, 10 per cent. additional, £3,100 (£3,885); and for other purposes in relation thereto prescribed by the said Acts or any of them. The said Timaru Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·550 pence in the pound sterling upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Timaru comprising the whole of the said borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.

BIRCHWOOD CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY FACTORY COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of THE BIRCHWOOD CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY FACTORY COMPANY, LIMITED.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at Birchwood on the 9th day of February, 1933, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the same be wound up accordingly.”

At the same meeting JOHN FISHER, of Otatau, Southland, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and the River Boards Act, 1908, the Riccarton Borough Council, pursuant to a special order received from the Waimakariri River Trust on 15th July, 1933, resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £110,000 (one hundred and ten thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waimakariri River Trust under the above-mentioned Acts for improvement and flood control of the Waimakariri River, the said Riccarton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 361/11,000 (three hundred and sixty-one eleven-thousandths) of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of Riccarton, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan or until such loan is fully paid off.”
