bush ; along the said bush edge, generally northerly, easterly,
and southerly to White Slip, and the right bank of the Cascade
River, again to the Otago Land District boundary, thereby
excluding all the open tops and slopes of the watershed
between Durward’s Creek and the Gorge and Cascade rivers ;
then again easterly by the said land district boundary to
the eastern bush edge of the Olivine Range ; then generally
northerly along the edge of the bush to its point of inter-
section with the western boundary of Block XVI, Cascade
Survey District, and by a right line joining the said point of
intersection and the Martyr River Bridge on the Cascade-
Jackson’s Road ; then along the north-western boundary
of Pastoral License 1005 (Gazette 1928, page 1894), to its
intersection, with the south-easterly boundary of Miscel-
laneous License 1405, the left bank of the Ellery River ; then
along the said river-bank to its confluence with Bungle Brook,
and in a north-westerly direction along the boundary of the
said license to a point in line and 4,200 links distant from
the south-eastern boundary of Section 427 ; then to and
along the said boundary and the south-eastern boundary
of Section 428 to the point of commencement ; excluding
therefrom Lake Ellery and all roads.
Also all that area containing approximately 11,350 acres,
being formerly part of Provisional State Forest No. 1692
aforesaid, situated in Block XVI, Cascade, and Blocks VI,
IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Arawata Survey Districts, and
bounded generally as follows : Commencing at the most
western corner of Section 2236, Block XIV, Arawata Survey
District, and proceeding along the westerly and northerly
boundaries of the said section, the latter produced to the
Arawata River ; then along the left bank of the said river
to the edge of “ Jackson Flat ” and by the western edge
of the said flat to the Arawata River ; then again along
the said bank of that river to its confluence with Anderson
Creek ; then along the right bank of the said creek, and the
eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Pastoral License
1005 (Gazette 1928, page 1894), to the right bank of Jackson
River ; then along the bank of the said river to the southern
bush edge on the Thompson Range ; then generally easterly,
northerly, and southerly along the said edge of the bush to
its point of intersection with a production of the southern
boundary of Section 2236, and along the said produced line
to the point of commencement ; excluding therefrom all
roads.
Also all that area containing approximately 14,850 acres,
being formerly part of Provisional State Forest No. 1692
aforesaid, situated in Blocks VIII, XII, XV, and XVI, Mac-
farlane, and Blocks I, V, and IX, Jackson Survey Districts, and
bounded generally as follows : Commencing at the point of
intersection of the left bank of the Arawata River and the
Otago Land District boundary, and proceeding along the said
boundary 5,400 links to the eastern bush edge of the Olivine
Range ; then generally north-easterly along the said edge
of the bush to Shady Creek ; along that Creek to “ Lumber
Flat ” and along the edge of the said flat to McArthur Creek ;
then generally south-westerly along a line ten chains from
and parallel to the left bank of the Arawata River to the
mouth of the “ Ten Hours ” Gorge ; then southerly ten
chains to the said river and along its left bank to the point
of commencement : excluding therefrom all roads.
As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No.
155/4, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest at
Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
All that area in Westland Land District, containing approxi-
mately 73,500 acres, being formerly part of Provisional State
Forest No. 1692 (Gazette 1919, page 1284—ordinary Pro-
visional State Forest), situated in Blocks VI, VII, X, XI,
XIV, and XV, Arawata, Blocks II, III, V, VI, VII, IX,
X, XI, XIII, XIV, and XV, Jackson, and Blocks XII, XV,
and XVI, Macfarlane Survey District, and bounded generally
as follows : Commencing at the point of intersection of the
right bank of the Arawata River and the production of the
southern boundary of Ferry Reserve 236, Block VI, Arawata
Survey District, and proceeding to and along the said boundary
to the Main South Road ; then along the south side of the
said road to the eastern boundary of Block VII, Arawata
Survey District, and along the eastern boundary of the said
block to the southern edge of bush on the western side of the
Haast Range ; then generally southerly following the edge
of the bush to the southern boundary of Block II, Jackson
Survey District ; then along the said boundary and the
southern boundary of Block III of the said Survey District
to the bush edge on the eastern side of the aforesaid Haast
Range and generally northerly by the said bush edge to the
eastern boundary of Block XI, Arawata Survey District ;
then along southward, the eastern boundaries of Blocks
XI and XV, Arawata Survey District, and Blocks III, VII,
XI, and XV, Jackson Survey District ; then along the
northern boundaries of Blocks III, II, and I, Mount Aspiring
Survey District, and the western boundary of the said Block I
to the Otago Land District boundary ; then along the said
boundary to the Arawata River, and by the right bank
of the Arawata River to the mouth of the “ Ten Hours ”
Gorge ; then south ten chains from the right bank thereof
and generally north-easterly by a line ten chains from and
parallel to the said bank of the Arawata River to the Waipara
River, and along the Waipara River and the edge of the flat
land lying between the Waipara River and the northern
boundary of Block VI, Jackson Survey District ; then
again by the right bank of the Arawata River to the edge
of the open flat land known as “ Quail Flat ” and along the
eastern edge of this flat to the Arawata River ; then
by the bank of the Arawata River to the edge of the open
flat lands, commencing at a point between T.L. Creek and
Trig. Station “ T.J.” ; then by the bush edge on the south
and east of this open country to and along Tuning Fork
Creek to the Arawata River, and again by the right bank of
the Arawata River to the point of commencement.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No.
155/4, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service
at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
All that area in the Westland Land District containing
approximately 42,360 acres, being formerly part of Provisional
State Forest No. 1712 (Gazette 1921, page 2920—ordinary
Provisional State Forest, 3,720 acres), and part of Provisional
State Forest No. 1689 (Gazette 1919, page 1284—ordinary
Provisional State Forest, 38,640 acres), situated in Blocks XI,
XII, XV, and XVI, Okuru, Blocks XIII, XIV, XV, and XVI,
Mataketake, Blocks I, II, III, and IV, Governor’s Pass,
Block XIII, Clarke, and Block I, Haast Pass Survey Dis-
tricts, and bounded generally as follows : Commencing at
the most western corner of Section 2520, Block XII, Okuru
Survey District, and proceeding along the said section’s
south-westerly boundary, the south-western boundary of
Section 2521, across a road reserve and the southern and south-
eastern boundaries of Section 2522, the latter produced to
the Haast River ; then along the left bank of the said river
to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 2625 ;
then to and along said boundary and the southern boundary
of the said section to the edge of the flat land known as
“ Christmas Flat,” along the southern edge of this flat to
the south-eastern corner of Section 2626, and by the eastern
boundary of the said section and by its production to the
Haast River ; then along the said river to the point in
line with the north-western boundary of Section 2585 ; then
to and along said boundary and the south-western boundaries
of Sections 2585 and 2586, and the southern and eastern
boundaries of Section 2587, the latter produced to the Haast
River ; then again along the left bank of the Haast River
to the flat land known as “ Depot Flat,” and by the western,
southern, and eastern boundaries of said flat again to the
Haast River ; then again along the left bank of the said
river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of
Reserve 175 ; then to and along the said boundary, the
south-western and south-eastern boundaries of said
reserve to “ Fragrant Flat,” and by the edge of this flat
to the Haast River ; then along a right line to the western-
most corner of Reserve 174 and along the south-western
and the south-eastern boundaries of said reserve, the latter
boundary produced to the Haast River ; then again along
the left bank of the said river to the edge of that land known
as “ Sunny Flat,” and by the said flat’s edge to Solitude
Stream ; then in a south-westerly direction along the north-
western boundary of Run 635 to a point on the southern
boundary of Block IV, Governor’s Pass Survey District,
14,500 links west from the left bank of the Haast River ;
then along the southern boundaries of Blocks IV, III, II,
and I, Governor’s Pass Survey District, the western boundary
of said Block I, the southern boundary of Block XVI, Okuru
Survey District, to the north-eastern boundary of Pastoral
License 1015 (Gazette 1929, page 3063) ; then along that
boundary and the western boundary of said license to the
right bank of the Okuru River ; then by the said river
to a road reserve, and north-easterly along this road reserve
to its point of intersection with the north-eastern boundary
of Section 2493 produced ; then from this point by a right
line in a north-easterly direction to the point of commencement,
excluding therefrom Lake Douglas, all roads, and all the open
and scrub tops of Mark’s Range lying to the westward of a
line bearing 40° through Trig. Station P.R.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No.
145/15, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest
Service at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
All that area in the Westland Land District containing
approximately 103,890 acres, being formerly Provisional State
Forest No. 1656 (Gazette 1920, page 2846—national-endow-
ment Provisional State Forest, 3,100 acres), Provisional State
Forest No. 1655 (Gazette 1920, page 2845—national-endow-
ment Provisional State Forest, 4,800 acres), part of Pro-
visional State Forest No. 1688 (Gazette 1919, page 1285—
ordinary Provisional State Forest, 73,850 acres) and Crown
Land (22,140 acres), situated in Blocks X, XI, XII, XIV, XV,
