and XVI, Arnott, Blocks I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Matakatea, Block XII, Okuru, and Blocks I, V, IX, and XIII, Clarke Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 830, Block I, Matakatea Survey District, and proceeding along the northern, north-eastern, and south-eastern boundaries of the said section to the northern boundary of Education Endowment Reserve 121; thence along the northern, eastern, south-eastern, and south-western boundaries of said reserve to the north-eastern corner of Section 2667; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of the said section, a road reserve, Sections 2664, 2659, 2656, 2655, and 2662, to the edge of the flat land along the Haast River; thence along the north-eastern edge of flat to the right bank of the Haast River; thence along the said bank of that river to the edge of “Porridge Flat,” by the edge of said flat, Mark’s Bluff, and “Mark’s Flat” to the Haast River; again by the right bank of the said river to the edge of all that flat and low-lying country in the vicinity of Brag Creek and Neilson Creek; thence along the edge of said flat land to the Haast River; along the said river to the edge of “Prospector Flat” and along the edge of “Prospector Flat” to the Haast River; thence again along the right bank of that river to the eastern boundary of Block XIII, Clarke Survey District; thence along the eastern boundaries of Blocks XIII, IX, V, and I, Clarke Survey District, to the Moeraki River; thence along the left bank of the Moeraki River to Ferry Reserve 236; thence along the south-western and north-western boundaries of said reserve to a road reserve, across said road reserve to a point in line with the aforesaid north-western boundary; thence along northern side of said road reserve to the Moeraki River; thence along the left bank of the said river to Lake Moeraki; thence along the western shore of the said lake and again the left bank of the Moeraki River to a point ten chains from its mouth; thence generally south-westerly along a line ten chains from and parallel to the high-water mark to the western boundary of Block X, Arnott Survey District; thence along the western boundaries of Blocks X and XIV, Arnott Survey District, and Block II, Matakatea Survey District, to the northern boundary of M.L. 189; thence along the northern, eastern, and south-eastern boundaries of the said license to a road reserve, and along the eastern side of the said road reserve to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom Reserve 329, all roads, and the open ridges of the Matakatea Range.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 143/15, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the provisional State forests and Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forests.
SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WESTLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District containing approximately 44,800 acres being formerly part of Provisional State Forest No. 1654 (Gazette 1920, page 2845—national-endowment provisional State forest, 850 acres), part of Provisional State Forest 1687 (Gazette 1919, page 1285—ordinary provisional State forest, 43,470 acres), and Crown land (480 acres), situated in Blocks I, II, III, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIV, XV, XVI, Abbey Rocks, Block VIII, Otumotu, and Blocks IX and XIII, Mount Douglas Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the most southerly corner of Section 1733, Block VIII, Abbey Rocks Survey District, and proceeding along the south-western boundary of Provisional State Forest No. 1653 (Gazette 1920, page 2845) to the western boundary of Section 2712; thence along the western, southern, eastern boundaries of the said section and the latter produced to the Paringa River; thence
along the left bank of the said river to the eastern boundary of Provisional State Forest No. 1654 aforesaid; thence southerly along the said boundary and the production thereof to the northern boundary of Block XIII, Mount Douglas Survey District; thence along the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of the said Block XIII, and the southern boundary of Block XVI, Abbey Rocks Survey District to the Moeraki River; thence along the right bank of the Moeraki River to a point 90 chains distant from a road reserve adjoining the south-western boundary of Native Reserve No. 318; thence from the said point north-easterly 20 chains, and thence in a north-westerly direction along a line 20 chains from and parallel to the right bank of the Moeraki River to the south-eastern boundary of the said Native Reserve; thence along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of said reserve to its most northerly corner; thence due west to the shores of Lake Moeraki; thence along the shores of Lake Moeraki and the right bank of the Moeraki River to Monro’s Creek; thence along the said creek a distance of 10 chains and thence along a line 10 chains from and parallel to the right bank of the Moeraki River and the high-water mark to the western boundaries of Section 1834; thence along the said boundary and the southern boundary of the said section to a road reserve, and along that reserve to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 1954; thence across the said road reserve, along the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 1954, the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 1952 and 1821, across a road reserve, a creek, and again a road reserve and along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of Section 1853, to its most northerly corner; thence along a right line due north to the northern boundary of Block II, Abbey Rocks Survey District; thence along the said boundary to a point due north of Trig. Station “I.G.” and along a right line to the said trig. station; thence southerly along the western boundary of Run 50 to the shores of Lake Rasselas; thence along the northern and western shores of the said lake to the boundary of Run 50, and again along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of the said run to the shores of Lake Paringa; thence along the southern and eastern shores of the said lake to the Hall River; thence along the right bank of the Hall River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Reserve 331; thence to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said reserve to its most eastern corner; thence south-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom Reserve 330, all roads, and all the open tops of Mount Kinnaird and Mariner’s Peak.
Also all that area in the Westland Land District containing approximately 10,220 acres being formerly parts of Provisional State Forest No. 1650 (Gazette 1920, page 2845—national-endowment provisional State forest, 2,220 acres and 370 acres), part of Provisional State Forest No. 1686 (Gazette 1919, page 1285—ordinary provisional State forest, 7,630 acres), situated in Blocks XV and XVI, Paringa, Blocks III, IV, and VIII, Abbey Rocks, and Blocks I and V, Mount Douglas Survey Districts and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the most northerly corner of Native Reserve 319, and proceeding along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of the said reserve, and the latter produced to the Paringa River; thence along the right bank of the said river to a point 650 links from the Main South Road; thence north-easterly along a line ten chains from and parallel to the said road to the eastern boundary of Block VIII, Abbey Rocks Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction along a right line, bearing 28° 30' to a pack track; thence along a line bearing 289° 45', distance 17500 links, and a right line due north to a point ten chains from the high-water mark; thence westerly along a line ten chains from and parallel to the high-water mark to the eastern boundary of Section 2003; thence along the said boundary to the northern boundary of Native Reserve 1100; thence along that boundary and the eastern boundary of said reserve to the northern boundary of Section 660; thence by the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of the said section, and the latter produced to the Paringa River; thence along the right bank of the said river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Native Reserve 319; thence to and along the said boundary to the point of commencement.
Also all that area in the Westland Land District containing approximately 2,700 acres, being formerly part of Provisional State Forest No. 1649 (Gazette 1920, page 2845—national-endowment provisional State forest) situated in Blocks XI, XIV, and XV, Bruce Bay Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the most southern corner of Section 877, Block XI, Bruce Bay Survey District, and proceeding in a south-westerly direction along a right line to the most eastern corner of Section 2447; thence along the eastern boundaries of Sections 2447 and 2449 and a road reserve, across a creek and along the south-eastern boundaries of a road reserve, and Sections 2450 and 2451 to the southern boundary of Block XIV aforesaid; thence along the southern
