The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1932.—Notice of Cancellation of Award.

In the matter of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in the matter of an industrial dispute between Sanford Limited, Fish-merchants, Auckland, Applicants, and the Auckland Federated Seamen’s Industrial Union of Workers, Respondent.

WHEREAS the Conciliation Commissioner, by notice dated the 16th day of December, 1932, has notified the Clerk of Awards that a settlement of the above-mentioned dispute has not been arrived at by the Council of Conciliation appointed for the hearing thereof: Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with section 7 (4) of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1932, the Auckland Seamen and Firemen (Trawling Section) Award, dated the 17th September, 1929, and published in Book of Awards, Vol. XXIX, page 580, is deemed to be cancelled and ceases to be in force on the expiration of one month from the date of the Commissioner’s notification to the Clerk of Awards as aforesaid.

Notice of Adoption under Part IX of the Native Land Act, 1931.

IT is hereby notified that the order as set out in the Schedule hereunder has been made by the Native Land Court under the provisions of the Native Land Act, 1931.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Education Reserve in North Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 10th January, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 15th February, 1933, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.
Mangonui County.—Mangonui Town District.

Sections 100, 101, 119: Area, 3 roods 34·3 perches. Upset annual rent, £2 10s.

Sections are situated on formed road within half a mile of Wharf, Post-office, stores, &c. Two sections front an unformed road. Elevated position commanding good view of Mangonui Harbour. Sections unimproved in scrub.

Term of lease: Twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for further similar terms at rentals based on fresh valuations.

Form of lease may be perused and full particulars obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Settlement Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 9th January, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Monday, 23rd January, 1933.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 24th January, 1933, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Hauraki Plains County.—Orongo Settlement.

Sections 98 and 488: Area, 74 acres 3 roods 4 perches. Capital value, £450. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £11 5s. Weighted with £220 for improvements, consisting of dwelling and outbuildings and approximately 100 chains of fencing. This sum is payable in cash or by a cash deposit of £10, the balance, £210, to remain on instalment mortgage to the Lands Department over a period of twenty years, interest being at the rate of 5 per cent. to a New Zealand discharged soldier, and 5½ per cent. to others, the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £8 7s. 4d. and £8 14s. 6d. respectively.

Mixed farming property, situated on the Orongo Road, three miles and a quarter from Turua Post-office, one mile and a half from Orongo School, and four miles and a quarter from Kopu by a formed metalled road.

All flat partly drained land, of which approximately 8 acres are in worn-out pasture, the balance being mainly under a dense growth of tall fescue. Subdivided into 6 paddocks. The soil is a heavy clay marl resting on marine deposit. Watered by drains.

Cream is collected from the property.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Kawhia County.—Pirongia Survey District.

(Exempt from Payment of Rent for Five Years.)

Sections 6 and 15, Block XIII: Area, 1,459 acres 2 roods 36·5 perches. Capital value, £750. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £15.

Weighted with £600 for improvements, consisting of approximately 850 acres felled and grassed (practically all reverted); dwelling of five rooms and outbuilding, 160 chains road fencing, 100 chains boundary fencing, 200 chains subdivisional fencing. This sum is payable in cash or may be secured to the Superintendent, State Advances Department, by a mortgage repayable over a period of 30 years at 6 per cent., the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £21 19s. 6d.

Grazing property situated on the Kaimango Road, five miles from Hauturu Post-office and School, and twenty-one miles form Otorohanga Railway-station, dairy-factory, and saleyards, by thirteen and a half miles metalled road and seven and a half miles formed clay road.

Hilly and broken section, of which approximately 850 acres have been felled and grassed, but now practically all reverted, while the balance is in its natural state, standing bush.

The soil is a light loam resting on limestone, sandstone, and clay formation.
