of Port Nelson, to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I of the first-mentioned Act.

Promotion in the Royal Naval Reserve (New Zealand Division).

Appointment in the Public Service.

Charles William Carver,

to be Registrar at Nelson of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and Sheriff for the District of Nelson for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908; Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Nelson for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928; Clerk of the Wardens’ Courts, Receiver of Gold Revenue, and Mining Registrar at Nelson and Glenhope for the Mining District of Karamea constituted under the Mining Act, 1926; Official Assignee at Nelson for the Supreme Court District of Nelson for the purposes of the Bankruptcy Act, 1908; Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the District of Nelson; and local Patent Officer at Nelson for the purposes of section 115 of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, as from the 6th day of March, 1933.

Poukawa Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and Levy Special Rates.

Wellington, 8th March, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area the annually recurring special rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of the repayment of moneys raised pursuant to the said Act and expended on the Poukawa Drainage Area, together with interest thereon.

The amount of such rates will be payable in respect of the financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1933, on the 30th day of March, 1933, and in respect of future financial years on the 30th day of August in such year.

The valuation roll of the area is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, Post-office Buildings, Napier, and may be inspected at all times at which the office is open for the transaction of public business.


SCHEDULE.

CLASS A.

On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, thirty-nine pence and twenty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (39·29d.) in the pound.

CLASS B.

On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, sixpence and fifty-five one-hundredths of a penny (6·55d.) in the pound.

CLASS C.

On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, one penny and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (1·31d.) in the pound.

Poukawa Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to Make and Levy General Rates.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 8th March, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of covering for the period from the 1st day of April, 1932, to the 31st day of March, 1933, the cost of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of works constructed under that Act in the said area.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of March, 1933.

The valuation roll of the area is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, Post-office Buildings, Napier, and may be inspected at all times at which the office is open for the transaction of public business.


SCHEDULE.

CLASS A.

On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fourpence and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (4·31d.) in the pound.

CLASS B.

On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, seventy-two one-hundredths of a penny (0·72d.) in the pound.

CLASS C.

On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, fourteen one-hundredths of a penny (0·14d.) in the pound.
