NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at 95 Crawford Street, Dunedin, on Monday, the 9th day of January, 1933, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them, showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator.

THE KAIHU VALLEY LAND COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
NORTHERN DISTRICT.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the KAIHU VALLEY LAND COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand dated the 28th day of November, 1932, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £50,000 to £20,000, and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above statute, were registered with the Registrar of Companies on the 14th day of December, 1932 ; and further take notice that the said minute is in the words and figures following :—

“ The capital of the Kaihu Valley Land Company, Limited, henceforth is £20,000, divided into 37,500 ordinary shares of 10s. each and 1,250 ‘ B ’ cumulative preference shares of £1 each, instead of the former capital of £50,000 divided into 46,250 ordinary shares of £1 each and 1,750 ‘ A ’ preference shares of £1 each and 2,000 ‘ B ’ preference shares of £1 each. At the time of registration of this minute all the 37,500 ordinary shares are fully paid excepting that upon 200 of the said shares, Nos. 25001 to 25200, inclusive, calls amounting to a total sum of £32 14s. are unpaid, and 5s. per share has been paid up on 1,133 ‘ B ’ preference shares, and the residue of the ‘ B ’ preference shares—viz., 117—are unissued.”

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, 126 High Street, Lower Hutt, on Monday, 21st day of November, 1932, the following resolution was duly passed :—

“ In view of the fact that the company is unable to pay its debts as they become due and that there appears to be no prospect of improvement, it is resolved that the company go into liquidation, and that Mr. MAURICE JOHN POWER, Public Accountant, Lower Hutt, be appointed Liquidator.”

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

WHATAWHATA BRIDGE REDEMPTION LOAN, £3,450, 1932.

Resolution striking Special Rate.

Moved by Councillor H. Johnstone.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Raglan County Council Whatawhata Bridge Redemption Loan of £3,450, 1932, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the Raglan County Council Whatawhata Bridge Loan of £4,500, 1922, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing (¼d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Whatawhata Bridge Special-rating Area within the County of Raglan contained within the following boundaries: Including the whole of the areas contained in the Karamu, Karioi, Whaingaroa (both outlying and Raglan Town District), and Matakowhai Ridings of the County of Raglan, all legal subdivisions, and that portion of the Pirongia Riding bounded on the north by the Kaniwhaniwha Stream, on the east by the Waipa River, and on the south by a line following the southern boundaries of Sections 195, 199, 199A, 204, 205, 119, and 125, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 149A, and 386, and thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 386 and 383, and thence north along the western boundaries of Sections 383, 384, and 379 to the Kaniwhaniwha Stream at the point of commencement. And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Seconded by Councillor H. W. Wilson, and carried.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Raglan was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Raglan County Council in the presence of—
