- By deleting paragraph (e) of subclause (1) of clause 11.
- By deleting subclause (2) of clause 11, and substituting the following subclause :—
“ (2) The allowance payable to a student of Division A shall be at the rate of £20 per annum for a student in the first and in the second year, and at the rate of £30 per annum for a student in the third year, together with such amount as may be approved by the Minister towards the payment of the fees of the University College classes attended by the student with the approval of the Director.” - By deleting subclause (3) of clause 11, and substituting the following subclause :—
“ (3) (a) A student who shows to the satisfaction of the Director that he is obliged to live away from home or his usual place of residence in order to attend a training college shall on making application therefor be paid a boarding allowance at a rate not exceeding £40 per annum, which shall be refunded to the Public Account when and as the Minister may require :
“ Provided that in the case of a teacher who subsequent to the completion of his training secures a position in a public school, a secondary school, a technical school, or a combined school the refund shall be met by such monthly deductions from his salary as the Minister may decide.
“ (b) Every such student, together with his parent or guardian, shall jointly and severally enter into a bond with His Majesty the King, in such form as the Minister may approve, to pay into the Public Account, when so required by the Minister, such sum or sums as have been advanced or paid to the student by way of boarding allowance.” - By deleting subclause (4) of clause 11, and substituting the following subclause :—
“ (4) A student who shows to the satisfaction of the Director that he is obliged to live away from home or his usual place of residence in order to attend a training college shall be paid one return fare annually between the training college and his home or usual place of residence :
“ Provided that a student who is required by the Director to attend a training college other than the training college nearer to his home or usual place of residence may, in the event of his returning to his home or usual place of residence during a short vacation, be paid in addition, but not more than twice in any year, a return fare equal to the difference between the fares to the nearer training college and the fares to the more distant college.” - By deleting paragraph (e) in subclause (1) of clause 13.
- By deleting in subclause (2) of clause 13 the words “ after 31st January, 1930.”
- By deleting paragraph (e) in subclause (1) of clause 14.
- By deleting subclause (3) of clause 14, and substituting the following subclause :—
“ (3) The allowances and fees payable to or on behalf of a student of Division D shall be at the same rate and subject to the same conditions as for a first or second year student of Division A.” - By deleting in subclause (2) of clause 17 the words “ practising schools,” and substituting the words “ normal school.”
- By inserting in the proviso to clause 20 the letter “ B ” after the word “ Divisions.”
- By deleting subclauses (1) and (2) of clause 22, and substituting the following subclauses :—
“ (1) At the close of their period of training students who have satisfactorily completed the prescribed course at the training college, and also any required period of training as assistants on probation and who are favourably reported upon in respect both of professional skill and of educational attainment, may, on the recommendation of the principal of the college and with the concurrence of the Director, be deemed to have fulfilled in whole or in part, as the case may be, the requirements for a teacher’s certificate as laid down in clause 3 of the regulations for the examination and certification of teachers.
“ (2) So far as the academic status of the students is concerned the recommendations of the principal shall be based mainly on the result of a final examination covering the work during the year and of a standard at least equal to that demanded by the Department in the teacher’s certificate examinations, although not necessarily covering the same syllabus.” - By deleting clause 24.
- By deleting in subclause (1) of clause 26 all the words after the word “ paid,” and substituting the following words : “ in ten equal instalments payable on the fifteenth day of the month, the first instalment being payable on the fifteenth day of February.”
- By deleting in subclause (2) of clause 26 all the words preceding the word “ without.”
