(2) By deleting in the same subclause the words “by transfer” and also the words “in the district.”
(3) By inserting in the same subclause after the word “are” the words “in the opinion of the Director.”
6. By deleting subclauses (2) to (9) inclusive of clause 7, and substituting the following subclauses :—
“(2) The following shall be the staff of the normal school—
“(a) Headmaster: Salary, one grade higher than that prescribed for a school of the same average attendance, but not in any case exceeding Grade VII.
“(b) Assistant Teachers—
“(i) A first male assistant of Grade 3.
“(ii) An infant mistress of Grade 3.
“(iii) An assistant of Grade 1 in lieu of each probationary assistant.
“(iv) Such additional assistants of Grade 2 as are required to provide in all one assistant for each complete thirty-five pupils in average attendance in the main school.
“(v) An assistant in charge of Model I with the salary of a Grade IIIA head teacher, but without house-allowance.
“(vi) An assistant mistress in charge of Model II with a salary of Grade 2.
“(vii) An assistant mistress in charge of Model III with a salary of Grade 2.
“(viii) Such assistant teachers in the secondary department, if any, as are prescribed in Schedule III of the regulations for the staffing of public schools.
“The grades of salary referred to in this subclause are the grades of salary prescribed for teachers in public schools.
“(3) Additions to Salary—
“(a) The headmaster of a normal school shall receive the same additions to salary as are provided in clauses 5, 7, and 8 of the regulations for the salaries of public-school teachers, together with additional salary at the rate of £50 per annum.
“(b) Every assistant teacher on the staff of a normal school shall receive the same additions to salary as are provided in the regulations for the salaries of public-school teachers, together with additional salary at the rate of £40 per annum.
“(c) Where an assistant on the staff of a normal school is required to lecture to students for at least twenty periods during the year he shall receive a further addition to salary at the rate of £10 per annum.
“(4) If the Minister is of the opinion that a modification of the staff or salaries prescribed herein for a training college or for a normal school is reasonable or necessary, he may authorize or direct the Board to modify the staff or the salaries in such manner and for such period as he thinks fit.
“(5) Subject to the provisions of these regulations, the regulations relating to public-school teachers respecting salaries and leave of absence shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to staffs of training colleges and normal schools, and should any dispute or difficulty arise respecting the meaning or effect of these regulations the question shall be submitted to the Minister, whose decision thereon shall be final.
“(6) The salaries and allowances payable under clause 7 of the regulations relating to training colleges shall be subject to the deductions made by the Finance Act, 1931, and the National Expenditure Adjustment Act, 1932.
“(7) Every person employed on the staff of a training college or a normal school who at the date of the coming into force of these regulations was in receipt of salary and allowances in excess of the maximum salary and allowances prescribed by these regulations for the position he occupies shall for a period of one year continue to receive the same salary and allowances as if no reduction in his salary and allowances had taken place, and thereafter he shall receive as his salary and allowances the maximum salary and allowances prescribed for his position.”
7. By deleting paragraph (c) of subclause (10) of clause 7.
8. By deleting in subclause (1) of clause 8 the words “practising schools,” and substituting the words “normal school.”
9. By inserting in paragraph (c) of subclause (2) of clause 9 after the word “applications” the following words: “to the Director of Education, who shall forward approved applications.”
10. By deleting in subclause (2) of clause 10 all the words after the words “probationary assistant,”
