In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the WESTLAND WOOD PULP AND PAPER SYNDICATE, LIMITED.

Friday, the 14th day of October, 1932.

UPON the petition of the above-named company on the 20th day of September, 1932, preferred unto a Judge of the Supreme Court, and upon hearing counsel for the petitioner, and upon reading the said petition and an affidavit of James Arthur Sydney Marris, the Secretary of the above-named company, filed on the 20th day of September, 1932, verifying the said petition, the New Zealand Gazette of the 6th day of October, 1932, the Press newspaper, and the Christchurch Times newspaper, both of the 5th day of October, 1932, each containing an advertisement of the said petition, this Court doth order that the said company, “The Westland Wood Pulp and Paper Syndicate, Limited,” be wound up by the Court under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that the Official Assignee at Christchurch be the sole Liquidator thereof.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of EMU LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the above company will be held at twelve noon on the 31st day of October, 1932, at the office of the Liquidator, 102 Featherston Street, Wellington, for the purpose of enabling the Liquidator to lay before such meeting an account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of offering any explanation he may wish to give and for the purpose of considering and, if thought fit, passing as an extraordinary resolution the following resolution:—

“That the final accounts of the liquidation of the company be and are hereby approved and that the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator be retained by the Liquidator for a period of one year from the date hereof, after which time they may be destroyed by the Liquidator.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution was duly passed in terms of section 168 (6) of the Companies Act, 1908, on the 11th day of October, 1932:—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily and that EDWIN ALLEN ASTLEY, of Auckland, Company Secretary, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

DUNEDIN DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE BOARD.

COPY OF RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE DUNEDIN DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE BOARD ON WEDNESDAY, 12TH OCTOBER, 1932.

Resolution making Special Rate of ½d. in the Pound as Security for Renewal Loan of £23,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Act, 1900, the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £23,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repaying a loan of like sum which matures on 1st January, 1933, the said Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.

I HEREBY certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board on the above-mentioned date.

AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Amuri County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £750 authorized to be raised by the Amuri County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the settlers’ share of the cost of erecting the Mandamus River Bridge, Tekoa, the said Amuri County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 9/40ths of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Mandamus River Bridge, Tekoa, Special-rating Area, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of REFRESHERS (TARANAKI), LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation).

AT a special general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 28th day of September, 1932, the following special resolution was duly passed, viz.:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind the same up, and accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. H. L. PATERSON be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”
