to purchase general equipment, apparatus, appliances,
plant, land and easements, and to erect buildings and
offices within or without the said defined area, and to
make provision for financial assistance to consumers, and for
trading purposes as provided by the said Act, and, in pursuance
of the Local Legislation Act, 1931, section 31, to repay to
credit of Power Fund moneys thereby authorized to be repaid
in respect of advances for payment of the cost of an extension
line to Patea, the South Taranaki Electric-power Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 343/1000ths of a
penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of
the capital value) of all rateable property in the said defined
area, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of the said loan, and shall be payable
yearly on the first day of the month of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty-six years or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the said
Board held at Hawera on the 16th day of September, 1932.

IN LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution passed on the
9th September, 1932, in terms of section 168 (6) of
the Companies Act, 1908, it was resolved that the company
be wound up voluntarily, and that JOHN H. BARTLETT, of
Paeroa, Public Accountant, be and hereby is appointed
Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

FARMERS’ AGENCY, LIMITED, a company duly incorporated
under the Companies Act, 1908, and having its registered
office at Christchurch.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up
of the above-named company by the Supreme Court
was, on the 10th day of September, 1932, presented to the
Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, P.C., K.C.M.G., Chief
Justice of the Dominion of New Zealand, by Charles Hill,
formerly of Burnham, but now of Dunedin, Farmer, The
New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited,
a company duly incorporated in Great Britain, having its
registered office at No. 1 Coleman Street, London, England,
and carrying on business at Christchurch and elsewhere in
New Zealand as a Mercantile Agent, and Norman Vivian Smith
of Christchurch, Advertising Agent, creditors of the said
company, and the said petition is directed to be heard before
a Judge of the said Court at the Supreme Court at Christ-
church on the 30th day of September, 1932, at 10.15 a.m.,
and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous
to oppose the making of the order for the winding-up of the
said company under the above Act should appear at the
time of the hearing by himself or counsel for that purpose
and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor
or contributory of the said company requiring the same by
the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the
same.

IN LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the
matter of FORBES LIMITED, a company duly incorporated
having its registered office at Lyttelton, and carrying
on business as Merchants.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the company duly convened and held at
the registered office of the company on Monday, 29th August,
1932, the following resolution was duly passed as an extra-
ordinary resolution :—
“That it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that
it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business,
and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that Mr.
EBENEZER HAY, of Pigeon Bay, Sheep-farmer, be and that
he is hereby appointed Liquidator of the company for the
purpose of such winding-up.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SECURITY RATE.
Public Baths Redemption Loan, 1932 (£3,900).
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of three thousand nine hundred pounds
(£3,900), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of
£5,000 which matured on the 30th June, 1932, the said
Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of twenty-five-thousand-one-hundred-and-seventy
(25,179/3,125,000ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property comprised within the public baths loan special-
rating area, the boundaries of which are described in the
Schedule hereto ; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty
(20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of forty thousand pounds (£40,000), autho-
rized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the out-
standing liability in respect of a loan of £66,400, maturing on
the 31st October, 1932, the said Christchurch City Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-hundred-and-
ninety-thousand-seven - hundred - and - seven one-million-five-
hundred-and-sixty-two-thousand-five-hundredths (190,707/1,
562,500ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value
