THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
[No. 62

  1. No net of a smaller size than six (6) inches in the mesh
    from knot to knot in extension when wetted shall be used
    in any portion of Lake Hawea or Lake Wanaka, and no person
    shall use more than two nets therein at the same time.

  2. The season for netting in Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka
    and fishing with rod and line in Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka,
    their tributary rivers and streams, and the Hawea River
    shall extend from the first day of November in any one year
    to the thirty-first day of May in the following year (both
    dates inclusive).

  3. The fee for every such annual license to net trout in
    Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka shall be the sum of one pound
    (£1) for each person so licensed, such fee to be paid to the
    Secretary or other duly authorized officer of the Otago
    Acclimatization Society. Such license shall be in the form
    numbered 3 set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

  4. It shall be the duty of every holder of a license autho-
    rizing him to net trout at the close of the fishing season to
    furnish to the Secretary of the Otago Acclimatization Society
    a return giving the number and weight of the fish taken during
    the season.

  5. Any person in lawful occupation of any land may fish,
    without a license or payment of a fee, for trout, salmon,
    perch, and tench upon such land during the same period
    and upon the same conditions as any other person might fish
    in the same waters who holds a license issued under these
    regulations.

  6. The term “Lake Wanaka,” as used in these regulations,
    means such portion of Lake Wanaka as is within the said
    Otago Acclimatization District.

  7. Any person offending against any of these regulations
    shall be liable to a penalty of not less than two pounds (£2)
    and not exceeding fifty pounds (£50), and all such fines shall
    be paid to the Otago Acclimatization Society.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago and Southland Land Districts
bounded on the north by the Westland Acclimatization Dis-
trict, on the north-east by the Waitaki Acclimatization
District, and on the east by the sea to the mouth of the
Mataura River; thence up the Mataura River to the north-
western boundary of Section 4, Block III, Nokomai Survey
District; thence north-easterly along that boundary and the
north-western boundary of section 3, Block III aforesaid,
to a public road; across that road, and northerly along same
to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block III, Nokomai
Survey District; thence north-easterly along the summit of
the Hector Mountains, passing through Lorn Peak, James
Peak, and Ben Nevis to Ben Cruachan; thence easterly
through Mount Edward to Mount Rosa; thence by a right
line to the confluence of the Nevis and Kawarau Rivers;
thence down the Kawarau River to its junction with the
Roaring Meg Stream; thence up the Roaring Meg Stream to
its source on Mount Pisa; thence by a right line to the
summit of Mount Pisa; thence by a right line northerly to
the south-eastern corner of Block 1, Lower Wanaka Survey
District; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of
the said Block 1 to the north-eastern corner of the said
Block 1; thence due west along the northern boundary of
Block 1 aforesaid to the Cardrona River; thence down the
Cardrona and up the Clutha River to Lake Wanaka; thence
up the centre of Lake Wanaka to the mouth of the Wilkin
River; thence up the centre of the Wilkin River to the foot
of a spur leading to Mount Kuri; thence by a right line to
Mount Kuri, from Mount Kuri to the summit of the Southern
Alps, and by the Southern Alps to Governor’s Pass, the place
of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

LICENSE.

Form No. 1.

The Fisheries Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

THE holder of this license [Name in full], of [Address, calling,
or occupation], having this day paid the sum of £1, is hereby
authorized to fish with only one rod and line for trout, salmon,
tench, and perch in every Acclimatization District in New
Zealand, except in the areas describe din the First Schedules
to the Rotorua Trout-fishing Regulations and the Taupo
Trout-fishing Regulations, from the day of
19 , to the day of 19 , subject to the said
Acts and to the general regulations in force for the time
being, and subject also to the local regulations in force in
each Acclimatization District.

HALF-YEAR LICENSE.

Form No. 2.

The Fisheries Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

THE holder of this license [Name in full], of [Address, calling,
or occupation], having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby
authorized to fish with one rod and line for trout, salmon,
tench, and perch within the Otago Acclimatization District
(except Lake Hawea, its tributary rivers, Lake Wanaka, its
tributary rivers, and the Hawea River) from the 20th day of
December, 19 , and the 30th day of April, 19 (both
inclusive), and in Lake Hawea, its tributary rivers, Lake
Wanaka, its tributary rivers, and the Hawea River from the
20th day of December, 19 , to the 31st day of May, 19
(both inclusive), subject to the said Act and the regulations
made thereunder.

NETTING LICENSE.

Form No. 3.

The Fisheries Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

THE holder of this license [Name in full], of [Address, calling,
or occupation], having this day paid the sum of £1, is hereby
authorized to net with not more than two nets at the same
time trout in Lake Hawea and that portion of Lake Wanaka
within the Otago Acclimatization Society’s District from the
1st day of November, 19 , to the 31st day of May, 19
(both inclusive), subject to the said Act and the regulations
made thereunder.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

(a) IN the mouth of the Taieri River and from the mouth of
the said river up to the traffic bridge of the Main South Road.

(b) In the mouth of the Tokomairiro River and in that
portion of the said river on the lower side of a straight line
drawn from a white post fixed at high-water mark at a point
known as the Iron Standard to a point marked by a white
post on the opposite side of the river, as shown on a plan
marked M.D. number 4410, and deposited in the office of the
Marine Department at Wellington.

(c) In the mouth of Catlins River, in the said river, and in
the waters of Catlins Lake below a straight line drawn from
White’s Point on the northern shore of the Catlins Lake to
Glass Point on the southern shore of such lake, the northern
end of such line being marked by a post having painted
thereon the words “ Netting Limit ” as shown on plan marked
M.D. 4562, No. 1, deposited in the office of the Marine Depart-
ment at Wellington.

(d) In the waters of the Owaka River below a straight line
drawn across the river from the dividing-line between Sections
3 and 11, Block VIII, of Glenomaru Survey District, such
limit being marked on the eastern shore of the river by a
post painted white bearing the words “ Netting Limit,” as
shown on plan marked M.D. 4562, No. 1, deposited in the
office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

(e) In the mouth of the Waikouaiti River or in such river
below the place at which the railway from Christchurch to
Dunedin crosses the said river.

(f) In the mouth of the Waihemo and Pleasant Rivers or
in such rivers within one mile from the mouth or entrance
thereof.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL..

WHEREAS the control of the land described in the
Schedule hereto was vested in the Ohura County
Council for a resting-place for travelling stock by an Order
in Council dated the thirteenth day of November, one thou-
sand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in Gazette of
the sixteenth day of that month, in pursuance of section two
of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914 :

And whereas it is expedient that the said Order in Council
should be revoked :
