Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VI and VII, Waimumu Hundred, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mataura, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917.—Closing of Registers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registers of New Zealand 4½, 5, 5¼, and 5½ per cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 1st September, 1937, and 1st September, 1941, will be closed from the 10th August to the 1st September, 1932 (inclusive), for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

Matamata County Council.—Cancellation of Unexercised Loan Authority.
In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Matamata County Council has been duly authorized to borrow the loans mentioned in the First Column of the Schedule hereto, up to the amounts and for the purposes set out against each loan respectively in the said First Column, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council thereto was given by Orders in Council as indicated in the Third Column of the said Schedule:
And whereas it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the amounts so authorized:
And whereas the Acting Minister of Finance has duly notified the Matamata County Council in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authorities in so far as they have not been exercised:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, amended by section 46 of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 4), and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling,
I, George William Forbes, Acting Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Matamata County Council to borrow, under the loan authorities referred to in the First Column of the said Schedule, the respective sums set out in the Second Column of the said Schedule, being the amounts in respect of which the said loan authorities have not been exercised: Provided always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in all respects of the loans already borrowed pursuant to the loan authorities herein mentioned.
