THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in the Schedule
hereto has become Crown land.

SCHEDULE.

Lot 286, Parish of Pirongia : Area, 200 acres.
Situated in the Pirongia Survey District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of
April, 1932.

Altering Boundaries of Featherston and Wairarapa South
Counties, and including Area in Maungaraki Riding, Wai-
rarapa South County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section
fourteen of the Counties Act, 1920, that the boundaries
of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance
with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the
Council of each of such counties in which the Counties Act
is in force:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Featherston
County Council on the eighth day of April, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty-two, praying for the alteration of
the boundaries of the Featherston and Wairarapa South
Counties in the manner described in the said resolution and
in the First Schedule hereto :
And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the
Wairarapa South County Council on the second day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two :
And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in
accordance with the said resolutions, and that the area to be
added to the Wairarapa South County should be included in
the Maungaraki Riding of that county :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, Charles, Baron
Bledisloe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area
described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of
the Featherston County, shall be added to and form part of
the Wairarapa South County; that the boundaries of the
Featherston and Wairarapa South Counties as so altered
shall be those set forth under the respective headings in the
Second Schedule hereto; that the area added as aforesaid
to the Wairarapa South County shall be included in the
Maungaraki Riding of the said county; and that the bound-
aries of that riding shall be those set forth in the Third
Schedule hereto :

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM FEATHERSTON COUNTY AND INCLUDED
IN WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by
a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 259,
Block X, Wainuioru Survey District; thence south-westerly
along the south-eastern boundary of Section 259 aforesaid to
the Wainuioru River; thence to and up the middle of the
Wainuioru River to a point in line with the north-eastern
boundary of Section 254, Block IX, Wainuioru Survey District;
thence south-easterly along that boundary and the north-
eastern boundaries of Sections 257, 258, and 259, Blocks IX
and X, Wainuioru Survey District, to the north-eastern corner
of the last-mentioned section, the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded
towards the north-east generally by the Wairarapa South
County, hereinafter described, from the summit of the Tararua
Range, near Mount Hector, to the mouth of the Waihingaia
Stream; thence towards the south-east and south-west
generally by the sea to Turakirae Heads in Cook Strait;
and thence towards the north-west by a line along the summit
of the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges to the place of commence-
ment, excluding therefrom the Boroughs of Featherston, Grey-
town, and Martinborough.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded
towards the north by a right line from a point on the summit
of the Tararua Range, due west of the northernmost source
of the Waingawa River, to the source of that river; thence
towards the north-east generally by a line along the middle
of the said Waingawa River to its confluence with the Rua-
mahanga River; thence by a line along the middle of the
said Ruamahanga River to its confluence with the Taueru
River; thence by a line along the middle of the said Taueru
River to a point opposite the southern boundary-line of
Subdivision No. 3 of the Pukemukimuki Block; thence by a
right line to that boundary-line; thence by Subdivisions
Nos. 3, 2, and 1 of the said Pukemukimuki Block, and by
Subdivisions Nos. 3 and 2 of the Patukawa Block, to the
southernmost corner of the last-mentioned subdivision;
thence by the Pohatu Stream for a distance of 1530 links;
thence by a right line bearing south 77° 59' 30" east for a
distance of 372·4 links; thence by a right line bearing south
43° 46' east for a distance of 306·5 links; thence by a right
line bearing south 21° 25' east for a distance of 389·3 links;
thence by a right line bearing south 43° 40' east for a distance
of 534·8 links; thence by a right line bearing south 56° east
for a distance of 662·5 links; thence by a right line bearing
south 55° 57' 30" east for a distance of 1701·2 links; thence
by a right line bearing south 35° 57' east for a distance of
916·4 links; and thence by a right line bearing south 35° 47'
east for a distance of 1255·1 links to the eastern boundary of
Te Kahu Block; thence by the eastern boundary of that
block to Section No. 69, Block XI, Otahoua Survey District;
thence by the said Section No. 69, and the north-western
boundary-line of Section No. 49, Block XIV, to a point
110 chains 25 links distant from Ngatukoko Trig. Station;
thence by a right line bearing south 9° 23' east for a distance
of 8240 links; thence by a right line bearing south 13° 34'
west for a distance of 2625 links; thence by a right line
bearing south 25° 40' west for a distance of 3735 links; thence
by a right line bearing south 5° 14' west for a distance of
1950 links; and thence by a right line bearing south 16° 17'
west to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 52,
Block XIV, Otahoua Survey District; thence by the south-
western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 52 and 63, Block XIV
aforesaid, by the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 75,
Block XV, and the south-eastern boundary-line of Section
No. 76, Block XIV aforesaid, to its southernmost corner;
thence by a line due south to the middle of the Wainuioru
River; thence by a line along the middle of that river to its
confluence with the Kuamahanga Stream; thence by a line
along the middle of the said Kuamahanga Stream to a point
in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 130,
Block IV, Wainuioru Survey District; thence by a right line
to and by the said south-eastern boundary-line and by the
south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 131, Block IV
aforesaid, to its north-eastern corner; thence by the southern
boundary-line of Small Grazing Run No. 49 to the Kaiwhata
River; thence by a line to and along the middle of that
river to a point opposite the northern boundary of Section
No. 9, Block IV, Kaiwhata Survey District; thence by a
line to and by that boundary-line, by the eastern boundary-
line of the said Section No. 9, and the eastern boundary-lines
of Sections Nos. 7 and 5, Block IV aforesaid, to the Kaiwhata
River; thence by a line to and along the middle of that
river to the sea; thence towards the south-east by the sea
to the mouth of the Waihingaia Stream; thence towards the
south-west by the said Waihingaia Stream to the easternmost
corner of Section No. 168, Block VII, Mount Adams Survey
District; thence by Sections Nos. 168 and 213, Block VII
aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of Section No. 214 of the
said Block VII; thence towards the north-west by Section
No. 232 to the easternmost corner; thence again towards the
south-west by Sections Nos. 232 and 231, Block VII afore-
said, and Section No. 230, Block II; thence towards the
north-west by Section No. 227, Block II aforesaid; thence
by the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 223,
Block III, Mount Adams Survey District, to the north-
eastern corner of the said Section 223; thence by the
northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 223 and 222 to the
eastern boundary of Section No. 302, Block XIV, Wainuioru
Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 302 and 301,
Block XIV aforesaid, to the Pahaoa River; thence by a line
down the middle of that river to its confluence with the
Wainuioru River; thence up the middle of the Wainuioru
River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line
of Part I of Section No. 293, Block XIV aforesaid; thence
to and along that boundary to the south-western corner of
Part I of Section No. 291, Block X, Wainuioru Survey Dis-
trict; thence by the north-western boundary-line of Part I
of Section No. 291, the abutment of a road, and the north-
western boundary-line of Section No. 286A, Block X afore-
said, and its production to the middle of the road at the
north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence
