Appointment in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:—

Captain Fischer Burges Watson, D.S.O., Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Diomede,” additional, to date 26th February, 1932, and in command as Commodore 2nd Class, Commodore Commanding New Zealand Station and Naval Forces and First Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board, vice Rear-Admiral Blake, as from 17th April, 1932.
Surgeon Commander Allan Gordon Bee, L.R.C.P. & S., Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Diomede,” additional, to date 5th March, 1932, and vice Gunn, from date of joining.

Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

STAFF.

Honorary Colonel H. H. Sterling relinquishes the appointment of Director of Railways and the honorary rank of Colonel.
Dated 31st March, 1932.
Phillip George Roussell, Esquire, is appointed Director of Railways, and is granted the honorary rank of Colonel.
Dated 1st April, 1932.
The appointment of Lieutenant-Colonel C. E. Hercus, D.S.O., O.B.E., v.d., M.D., B.D.Sc., N.Z. Medical Corps, as Assistant Director of Medical Services, Southern Command, is extended to 9th August, 1933.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Captain R. C. C. Steele, having returned to New Zealand, ceases to be seconded. Dated 16th April, 1932.

COMMAND.

The period of command of Lieutenant-Colonel C. E. Hercus, D.S.O., O.B.E., v.d., M.D., B.D.Sc., Otago University Medical Company, N.Z. Medical Corps, is extended to 1st October, 1933.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant J. B. Rowe, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), is attached under the provisions of para. 141, General Regulations, 1927, and is posted to the 18th Medium Battery. Dated 6th February, 1932.
2nd Lieutenant E. W. H. George, Regimental Supernumerary List, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 15th April, 1932.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY'S OWN).
Lieutenant J. B. Rowe, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from 3rd June, 1928, and is attached to the 18th Medium Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 6th February, 1932.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) N. W. Bowden, 2nd Cadet Battalion, lapses. Dated 8th April, 1932.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Captain E. M. Christie, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be Major. Dated 20th March, 1932.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants:—
L. Russell, 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st October, 1931.
G. E. Vercoe, 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 9th October, 1931.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Captain E. V. G. E. Kerr, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Major. Dated 14th March, 1932.

N.Z. AIR FORCE.

Flight Lieutenant T. W. White, No. 4 (Army Co-operation) Squadron, to be Squadron Leader, and is appointed to command the Squadron. Dated 31st March, 1932.

Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, appointed.

It is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 35 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the undermentioned person has been appointed a Ranger under and for the purposes of that Act for the Wanganui Acclimatization District:—
Leonard William Sheppard, of Wanganui.

Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, appointed.
