Appointment in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointment in the Public Service:—

Gilbert Graham Hodgkins

to be Deputy of the Registrar-General under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, and Deputy of the Registrar-General under the Marriage Act, 1908, as provided by section 2 (1) of the Marriage Amendment Act, 1912, as from the 27th day of April, 1932.

Classification of Roads in Awatere County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Awatere County, shall belong to the respective class of roads shown in the said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

AWATERE COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Two: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 8 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 12 tons.

Main Highways—
Picton–Bluff, from the northern boundary of Awatere County to Seddon.
Dashwood–Upcot, from Dashwood to Woodman’s Bend.

Roads classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons.

Main Highways—
Picton–Bluff, from Seddon to the southern boundary of Awatere County at the Clarence River.
Dashwood–Upcot, from Woodman’s Bend to Upcot.

Roads—
Blind River Loop and Lake Grassmere.
Blind River Loop and Merrifields.
Cape Campbell and Marfell’s Beach.
Dungree.
Haldon’s and Kaparu.
Kekerangu.
Medway.
Sea View to Blind River and Fergusons.
Seddon to Sea View.
Seddon to Upton Downs and side roads.
Taylor Pass.
Tetley Brook and Neal’s.
Upcot to Saxton Pass.

Notifying Land in the Nelson Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 30th March, 1932.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned land, being the land known as Waimaunga Experimental Farm, which has been acquired out of the Land for Settlements Account, is subject to the said Act as from the 29th September, 1931.


SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—WAIMAUNGA EXPERIMENTAL FARM.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land to be declared settlement land: 150 acres, being Lot 1, D.P. 943, being portion of Sections 5 and 17, Block VII, Mawheraiti Survey District. In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2723, deposited under No. 2561 in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for Mrs. J. T. Mansfield, Hobart.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by her own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
