Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Levin Fire Board to borrow, under the loan authority hereinbefore referred to, the sum of one hundred pounds, being the amount in respect of which the said loan authority has not been exercised : Provided always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in all respects of the loan of one thousand two hundred and thirty-four pounds already borrowed pursuant to the said loan authority.

Imperial Economic Conference, 1932.

WITH reference to the Imperial Economic Conference which is to be held this year, at which it may be necessary to consider the conclusion of trade agreements between New Zealand and other parts of the British Empire, the New Zealand Government desires that it should be in possession of the fullest possible information that might assist them in dealing with the matters which may arise.
The necessary statistical data have either been obtained or are in process of being obtained. The Committee of Cabinet which has been appointed has now entered upon a consideration of the general principles which will form the basis of the policy to be adopted by the Government at that Conference.
To assist them in their work it has been decided to afford those interested an opportunity of supplying information regarding—
(1) Any goods or any classes of goods upon which or with respect to which it is considered—
(a) That the duties in any other part of the Empire on New Zealand goods should be altered; or
(b) That the duties in New Zealand on goods produced or manufactured in any other part of the Empire or in any foreign country should be altered; or
(c) That any action at present taken by way of restriction, limitation, or control respecting the importation or exportation of goods into or from any part of the Empire or otherwise should be altered; or
(d) That any action by way of quota schemes, bulk-purchase schemes, or otherwise should be adopted in any part of the Empire to restrict, limit, or control the quantity of goods which may be imported into or exported from any other part of the Empire.
(2) Any other matters affecting the trade of New Zealand or any other part of the Empire which would be of assistance in dealing with the various matters which may arise.
It is desired that in any representations which are made the reasons therefor should be fully stated, and that all such representations should reach this office not later than 30th April, 1932.

Special Order made by the Mangonui County Council altering Riding Boundaries.

THE following special order, made by the Mangonui County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.
Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921-22, I hereby fix the 31st day of March, 1932, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

MANGONUI COUNTY COUNCIL.—NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER ALTERING THE BOUNDARIES OF MANGONUI AND ORURU RIDINGS.
Resolution.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1920, and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, the Mangonui County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—
(1) That the Mangonui and Oruru Ridings of the Mangonui County be altered as follows:—
(2) That Allotments 1, 3, 3A, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, all of Taipa Parish, and Allotment 50, Oruru Parish,
and parts Pakautararuia Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks be excluded from the Mangonui Riding and be included in the Oruru Riding.
(3) That the boundaries of the said Oruru and Mangonui Ridings be so altered as to give effect to above resolution ; the amended boundaries to be shown as in Schedule here-under.
SCHEDULE.
Oruru Riding.
Commencing at the high-water mark at the north-western corner of the Okokori or Awapoko Native Reserve, situated in Block IX, Rangaunu Survey District, and bounded towards the north generally by the sea to its confluence with the Taipa River; thence towards the east generally by the centre of the said Taipa River to its confluence with the Oruru River and the Paranui Stream ; thence by the centre of the said Oruru River to and by the centre-line of the Mangonui-Kaitaia Main Highway to a point in line with the production of the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 20, Mangonui Parish, by a right line to and by the said boundary of Allotment 20, and by the south-western boundary of Allotment 137, Mangonui Parish, to the north-western corner of Allotment N.W. 5, Waitarau Parish; thence by the western boundaries of the said Allotment N.W. 5 and Allotments M. 5, S.E. 5, to and across a public road, and by the western boundaries of Allotments W. 7 and E. 7, all of Waitarau Parish, to the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block II, Maungataniwha Survey District; thence by the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Section 1, the abutment of a public road, and by a crossing of the said public road and the Te Awa Puku Stream; thence by that stream to the Whangaroa County boundary as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 63, of the 1st May, 1918, page 1686, and by the said County boundary to the Hokianga County boundary as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 63, of the 1st May, 1918, page 1686; thence towards the south generally by the said Hokianga County boundary to a point in line with the production of the eastern boundary of Allotment 183, Maungataniwha Parish; thence towards the west generally by a right line to the south-western corner of the said Allotment 183, and by the eastern boundary of that allotment to a public road, by a production of the said boundary to the centre-line of that road, and by the said centre-line of the last-mentioned road to a point in line with the production of the eastern boundary of Allotment 25, Maungataniwha Parish, by a right line to and by the said boundary of Allotment 25 to and across the Te Puhi River; again by the said boundary of Allotment 25 to and across a public road; and again by the said boundary of Allotment 25 to its northernmost corner; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 130, 70A, and 70, Kaiaka Parish, the abutment of a public road, and again by the said Allotment 70 to and across the aforementioned Te Puhi River, and by that river to and across a public road; again by the said Te Puhi River to its confluence with the Hokotuku Stream, and by that stream to a point in line with the centre-line of a public road, by a crossing of the said Hokotuku Stream to and by the said centre-line of the last-mentioned road to a point in line with the production of the eastern boundary of Allotment 72, Kaiaka Parish, by a right line to and by the said boundary of Allotment 72, and by the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 2, Block IV, Takahue Survey District, to and across a closed road, and by the said closed road to the abutment of a public road; thence by the centre-line of the last-mentioned road to a point in line with the production of the eastern boundary of Allotment 23 E.R., Kaiaka Parish, by a right line to and by the said boundary of that allotment to its north-eastern corner; thence by the abutment of a closed road and by the said closed road and the south-eastern boundary of Allotments 26 E.R., Kaiaka Parish, to and across a public road, and again by the said boundary of Allotment 26 E.R. and the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Allotment S.E. 27, Kaiaka Parish, to its north-eastern corner; thence by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Allotment 145, Kaiaka Parish, and the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 144, Kaiaka Parish, to the south-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XIII, Rangaunu Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundary of that section and the eastern boundary of Section 3, Block XIII, Rangaunu Survey District, and that boundary produced to the centre-line of a public road; thence by the said centre-line of that road to and across the Toa Toa Stream, again by the said centre-line of that road to and across the Parapara Stream, and again by the said centre-line of that road to a point opposite the production of the northern side of the public road forming the northern boundary of an area of Crown land containing 77 acres 2 roods 6 perches situated in Block XIII, Rangaunu Survey District, by a right line to and by the last-mentioned road, and by the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of another area of Crown Land situated in Blocks XIII and IX, Rangaunu Survey District,
