Proclaiming Native Land to have become Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four hundred and fifty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931, it is provided, inter alia, that, on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1931, the Governor-General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land :

And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the said Act :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority so conferred upon me by section four hundred and fifty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has become Crown land.

Block Rangitoto-Tuhua 74B 5A. Area: 330 acres 2 roods 16 perches. Tuhua Survey District.

Change of Name of Locality “White Hills” to “Pine Valley,” County of Waitemata.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS settlers in the locality known as “White Hills,” in the County of Waitemata, desire that the name of such locality should be changed to “Pine Valley,” and it is considered expedient to alter the same :

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality known as “White Hills,” in the County of Waitemata, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Pine Valley,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Additional Immigration Restriction Regulations.—C. No. 89.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of March, 1932.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Immigration Restriction Act, 1908, and the Immigration Restriction Amendment Act, 1931, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made under the above-mentioned Acts on the twenty-third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and gazetted on the same day, and doth declare that section three of the Immigration Restriction Amendment Act, 1931, shall apply to all persons arriving in New Zealand being persons to whom, whether by reason of British birth and parentage or otherwise, Part I of the Immigration Restriction Amendment Act, 1920, does not apply, including the following persons or classes of persons, viz. :

(a) All persons who are members, adherents, or supporters of the body or society commonly known as the Third Communist International, or of any society, body, or organization affiliated thereto or directly or indirectly controlled thereby, or who are Communists, or who have expressed approval of or adherence to the doctrines of communism ;

(b) All persons the date of whose arrival in New Zealand is earlier than three years after they have left any country or place which at the date of their so leaving was directly or indirectly under the control of any communist form of government ;

(c) All persons who have, before landing in New Zealand, been served with a notice in writing signed by the Minister, stating that in his opinion they belong to any one or more of the classes of persons mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b) hereof ;

and doth likewise make the regulations set forth hereunder.

REGULATIONS.

1. THESE regulations may be cited as the “Immigration Restriction Regulations, 1932.”

2. Every person to whom section 3 of the Immigration Restriction Amendment Act, 1931, applies who desires to obtain a permit to land in New Zealand shall, if required by the Minister, or by some person appointed by him to grant permits under that section, make and deliver to the Minister or to a person so appointed an application in the following form :
