Revocation of the Reservation of a permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Forests Act, 1921–22, and pursuant to a resolution in that behalf passed by both Houses of Parliament, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke (so far only as it relates to the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto) the Proclamation of the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, whereby the said land (with certain other land) was set apart as a permanent State forest, and declare that the reservation thereby effected is (so far as aforesaid) reserved accordingly.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

State Forest No. 90.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 22 acres 2 roods 14 perches, more or less, and being Section 3508, in red (Pareora No. 2 Settlement), Block XII, Otaio Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 169/1, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of February, 1932.

Districts constituted under the Marriage Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Marriage Act, 1908, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Jackson’s Bay, Kuaotunu, Manaiā, Okarito, Mercury Bay, and Whangarei districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into three marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—

OKARITO DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Wanganui River; thence up the middle of that river to its source, and by a right line to the summit of the Southern Alps; thence by a line along the summit of the Southern Alps to Mt. Aspiring; thence by a right line running in the direction of the mouth of the Awarua River in Big Bay to a point due north of Cosmos Peak; thence by a right line to Cosmos Peak; thence by the eastern watershed of the Hollyford River to Mt. Anau; thence towards the south generally by the summit of the range over McKinnon’s Pass to Castle Mountain; thence by a right line to Bligh Sound at Cloudy Pass; thence towards the west and north-west generally by the sea to the mouth of the Wanganui River, the place of commencement.

MERCURY BAY DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded on the north and east by the sea from the mouth of the Opitonui Stream to the northern head of Tairua Harbour; thence by a right line to the source of the Waikawhau Stream; thence to and along the summit of the dividing range to Castle Rock (Trig. No. 24); thence by a right line to the source of the Opitonui Stream, and by that stream to its mouth, the point of commencement.

WHANGAREI DISTRICT.

All that area in the North Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the Hikurangi River where it is intersected by a line drawn from Te Tarahi-o-Rahiri Trig.-station to the north-eastern corner of Section 23, Block IX, Hukerenui Survey District; thence by the middle of the said river to the south-western corner of Block IV, Mangakahia Survey District; thence by the southern boundary of the said Block IV to the road at the north-western corner of Section 4, Block VIII, Mangakahia Survey District; thence by the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block VIII aforesaid, and the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, and 5, Block II, Purua Survey District, to the Wairua River; thence by that river to the north-eastern boundary of Ruatangata Parish; thence by the said north-eastern boundary of that parish to the northernmost corner of Section 19, Block VII, Purua Survey District; thence by Section 20, the north-western boundaries of Maketawa and Maungarei Blocks, and the northern boundaries of the last-mentioned block and Ngamutu Block to Section 22, Block V, Purua Survey District; thence by the northern boundary of that section, across a railway and road, and by the road forming the north-western boundary of Section 37, Block V aforesaid; thence by the road forming the north-eastern boundary of that section and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 83, 84, and 85, Block VII, Purua Survey District, to the southernmost corner of Section 40 (Education Reserve); thence by the said Section 40 to the Mangakino Stream; across that stream and by Museum Endowment and Kopua-toetoe Block to the Ngunguru River; thence by that river to the sea; thence by the sea to Whangarei Harbour; thence by the northern shore of Whangarei Harbour to Parua Bay; thence along a right line to One Tree Point; thence by the northern shores of the said Whangarei Harbour to the south-eastern corner of the Maungapere Parish; thence by the Maungakaramea Parish to the Whangarei–Mangapai Road; thence by that road, passing through Sections 98, 99, 101, 132, 102, and 103, and the road passing Sections 86, 79, 78, 77, 76, 75, 73, 65, 64, 63, and 62 to the road forming the eastern boundaries generally of Sections 127, 126, and 125, Maungakaramea Parish; thence by that road to the north-eastern corner of Section 125 aforesaid; thence by the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Maungakaramea Parish to the north-eastern corner of Section 7A, Block I, Tangihua Survey District; thence along the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections 7A, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, Block I, Tangihua Survey District, through Puke-pukerau Block, and passing Sections 8 and 10, Block IV, Maungaru Survey District, to the intersection of the said road by a right line running from Trig.-station No. 41, Tangihua, to Trig.-station No. 18, Te Tarahi-o-Rahiri; thence towards the south-west by the said right line to Trig.-station 18 aforesaid; thence by a right line in the direction of the north-eastern corner of Section 23, Block IX, Hukerenui Survey District, to the Hikurangi River, the point of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the 25th day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two.

Change of Name of Locality “White Hills” to “Pine Valley,” County of Waitemata.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS settlers in the locality known as “White Hills,” in the County of Waitemata, desire that the name of such locality should be changed to “Pine Valley,” and it is considered expedient to alter the same:

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality known as “White Hills,” in the County of Waitemata, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Pine Valley,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of October, 1931.
