Setting apart Crown Land under Section 161 of the Land Act, 1924.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-one of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto for disposal under the section of the Act mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 10, Block VII, Opoe Survey District: Area, 116 acres 3 roods 21 perches. (S.O. plan No. 26039.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of August, 1931.

Officer authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and one of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that William Albert Ross, Clerk in the Official Assignee’s Office at Christchurch, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Charles Lawrence James

to be Crier at Christchurch of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, as from the 1st day of August, 1931.

Eric Gratton Habershon

to be Crier at Oamaru of the Supreme Court of New Zealand for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court, Oamaru, for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Oamaru for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 1st day of August, 1931.

James Forsyth Sinclair

to be Registrar of Brands under the Stock Act, 1908, for the Kaikoura Branding Registration District as from the 4th day of August, 1931.

James Henderson Sutherland

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Dairy Industry Act, 1908, and an Inspector for the purposes of the Shearers’ Accommodation Act, 1919, as from the 13th day of July, 1931.

Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces:—

COMMAND.

Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. W. Lockie, v.d., relinquishes command of the North Auckland Regiment, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 3. Dated 23rd July, 1931.

Major C. S. White, 1st Battalion, The North Auckland Regiment, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed to command the Regiment. Dated 24th July, 1931.

Squadron-Leader G. L. Stedman, N.Z. Air Force, is appointed to command No. 2 (Bomber) Squadron. Dated 31st July, 1931.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain J. Dash ceases to be attached to the 2nd Field Brigade (Artillery Section, Palmerston North Boys’ High School Cadets), and is posted to the 7th Field Battery. Dated 25th July, 1931.

N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).

Captain C. F. Seaward, M.C., 1st Battalion, to be Major. Dated 23rd June, 1931.

Lieutenant T. L. Danks, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 24th July, 1931.

The Hauraki Regiment.

Lieutenant W. Moore, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 27th July, 1931.

Edward Walter Seville to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is posted to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 1st July, 1931.

The Wellington Regiment.

Lieutenant A. Macdonald, M.C., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment. Dated 24th July, 1931.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Bandmaster (Hon. Lieutenant) E. Tregligas, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b). Dated 28th July, 1931.

2nd Lieutenant I. A. Bird ceases to be attached to the 3rd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, and is transferred to the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment. Dated 24th July, 1931.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) H. G. Whitehead, 3rd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 28th July, 1931.

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.

Major M. F. Woodward, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 30th July, 1931.

Captain (Quartermaster) P. J. S. George, v.d., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 7. Dated 25th July, 1931.

Lieutenant P. Ruston, M.M., 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 24th July, 1931.

The Canterbury Regiment.

Major O. W. Williams, M.C., v.d., 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated 24th July, 1931.

Lieutenant P. Ruston, M.M., from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 1st April, 1928, and is posted to the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 24th July, 1931.
